When touring venues, there are things you NEED to check before signing a contract.
✨ Capacity
Will the venue comfortably hold your guest count? Most venues in our area start getting tight around 150 guests. Not us. We can comfortably accommodate up to 350 guests while still allowing room for your ceremony, reception, buffet, bar, and dance floor.
✨ Outdoor Weddings in Louisiana
Beautiful? Yes. Predictable? Absolutely not.
Rain, heat, wind, and humidity can completely change your plans. Always ask about a backup plan and make sure you have a coordinator to help execute it smoothly. Louisiana weather is risky business.
✨ The Kitchen
Please check the functionality of the kitchen. Your caterer deserves a REAL working kitchen, not a warming room that was never designed for catering.
Things to look for:
• Warmers
• Refrigeration
• Ice machine
• Large sinks
• Prep space
• Ways to keep sauces and food hot properly
A good kitchen makes a huge difference in food quality and service.
✨ Buffet & Bar Placement
Where will your buffet go? Where will the bar go? Will it actually fit the layout and still look elegant? These are major setup areas that take up a lot of space and affect guest flow.
✨ Tables & Chairs
How and where will tables and chairs be arranged? Is there enough room for guests to move comfortably without everything feeling cramped?
✨ Vendor Flexibility
Does the venue allow vendors to bring their creativity and expertise to life, or do they try to control every detail and give you the same setup every weekend?
Your wedding should feel like YOUR wedding.
✨ Bar Services & Liability
This is IMPORTANT.
If a guest is overserved and gets hurt, there can be serious liability issues. Even if you hire your own bartenders to serve your alcohol, you and the venue can still be pulled into lawsuits.
Make sure your bar service is handled legally and professionally. A little savings now could cost a lot more later.

✨ Restrooms
Are there enough for your guest count? Nobody wants long restroom lines at a wedding reception.
✨ Accessibility
Check steps, floor transitions, uneven surfaces, and walking distances. Older guests do not do well with excessive stairs, trails, or multiple floor levels.
✨ Parking
Make sure there is enough parking for your guests and vendors.
✨ Security Requirements
Always ask what security is required and who is responsible for arranging it.
