I'm having my hip replacement surgery, tomorrow morning September 24th. in L.A.! This has been a long wait and with lots of pain and sleepless nights along the way. My condition was noted as SEVERE and so it is a total hip replacement with cleanup of large osteo bones and with a new ball and joint and some metal down into my femur bone to hold me all together. The advantages of having the surgery outweigh the disadvantages (although I'm mourning that I will not be able to do any shopping or our date night possibly for a month or more ) ARGGH! However, one advantage was getting a fancy new mattress with all of the bells, whistles, lights, blue tooth, head up/ feet up and more gadgets than I know how to work. I 'm requesting my anesthesiologist to play the song by The RAMONES, "I WANT TO BE SEDATED" in the operating room. Maybe I'll even hear the first few measures myself! Thanks for your prayers.
