Today I was reminded by a friend of Pacific’O. This is where and her husband to be had their rehearsal luncheon. She imagined correct, it did burn. And for these memories of getting to do something I love for people I care about in a place that I am truly am blessed to call home; one word: grateful.
I love you and miss you Lahaina town. My first residence was right off of Front Street, the Ilikahi Street Bungalows, where I moved from Texas with a job offer in 2008. I lived there. I worked there. I met my husband on Front Street. I rode down the streets on many Halloweens on our bicycles.
I can’t believe it. I truly just can’t believe it. I’ve driven down a dozen times to include the day after the fire and sometimes wish I could just forget. The smell of burnt flesh. Seeing death. This might seem weird as it’s such a beautiful post with beautiful pictures, however, that’s the way I want to remember Lahaina and pray that soon my thoughts shift back to the beautiful place it once was, and will be again.
