Curious……..

What if there was a chance to finish off the 2025 year in November with a BIG opportunity the weekend prior to Thanksgiving and Vegas?

Wonder what Jim Hughes thinks?

MEZIERE ENTERPRISES SUNDAY FINDS BUSH AND HOEFER FINALLY BEAT THE DOOR IN FOR MAIN EVENT CHAMPIONSHIPS AT FAMOSO!!!!

Both Dean Bush and Sacha Hoefer have found themselves very deep into afternoon/evenings the last couple years at both the Showdown and more
spefically here at the Classic. Having talked with both drivers through the course of the weekend, I got the sense that there was something brewing. The late round efforts that were not falling was eventually going to turn, and that’s exactly what happened for arguably two of the most “due” drivers we have had the last two years.

In Super Pro, Dean Bush, who was doubled at 6 cars the day prior and bowed out having to race himself that round and lose in semis, was not going to let the trend continue. And after losing his 2nd entry to his racing partner Tristan Craig in Round 3, Dean stepped it up and found a way with a little earned luck in his lane. In the 5th Round, Steve Allanach turned it red to give way for Bush to make a time run to be .003 under and then came back to face off with Steve White and take .003 at the stripe after a .006 tree with .013 in the bank, earning him a single in the following semi round of 3.

On the other half of the field, Tanner Theobald was using a little craft in his dial to keep them guessing and while Craig Merrillees left .003 too soon, Tanner was .011 and .023 under on the 4.77 dial on the free lap. Coming back around with 4.78 on the board, Tanner had the lone door car remaining in the Black Chevy 2 of Greg Ventura. With only .004 difference on the tree in Tanners favor, both drivers got to the stripe dead on but Tanner held the strong hand by .007. In the semi, Saturday Champion, Mark Barnhart took early control with .009 on the tree in the bank but got to the stripe .002 under while Theobald parked it to dead 3.

The final brought two drivers looking for their first WCBR Main Event Title and it went to the wire. Bush was .020 on the tree and went dead 9, while Tanner was .021 on the tree and behind at the stripe tripping it .022 above.

In the $5,000 Pro Field, Sacha Hoefer collected the last win light in what seems like her 10th+ showing in at least the semis at WCBR Events. And while driving a Sportsman Legal Car, Sacha has runnered up in Main Events and even the $50,000 Shootout in Tucson back in 2021!

Double entered, Sacha started the day with both entries into the 3rd Round, and like our Super Pro winner, found her groove from there on out. In Round 4, she was .007 ahead of Colin Poist who left early on the chase, which put her in position for the potential bye at 6 cars. With a 2 for 1 and trip to the final, Sacha was up for the challenge and bragging rights at home with husband CW in other lane. Both drivers were red, Sacha only .001 and got the trip down to be .01 under her 7.46 dial.

Henry Roberson, a previous Double Up Main Event Champ at the Showdown, is also one of the overdue drivers here at the Classic. With late round showings all weekend and a Runner Up here in 2024, Henry most definitely laid down the most laps of the weekend. In Round 4, Roberson was .012 and .002 under with Denny Valvo. Getting started on the chase .008 too soon. Round 5, Roberson stepped up on his buddy and Friday Winner, David Myhre, going .002 on the tree, .016 above and closing the door on Myhre’s .024 start. Henry in the semis, again proved his prowess on the tree and was .013 with Stephanie Paz in the other lane going .009 red and drove it down .008 under to set himself up in the final with lane choice.

But in the Money Round, Robersons’ aggressive style at the tree let him out the gate .013 early and gave the parade lap to Sacha who lit the scoreboard up dead 2 and a place on the mantle with her Main Event Trophy!!!

Big Congrats to Both our Drivers and our runner ups.

Huge Thank You to Meziere Enterprises for once again stamping Sunday here at the Classic for our racers to be able to race at this level!!

VETTER RETURNS TO CLASSIC IN BIG FASHION, TAKES THE $20,000 64-CAR SHOOTOUT SATIRDAY NIGHT OVER BOBBY DYE JR!!

Trey Vetter, Henderson-NV, has earned a couple WCBR Main Event titles when the event was hosted back at Fontana few years back and has been on a hiatus from these events while extending his program into the Super Stock Class as well as Super Comp. But Saturday night, Trey reintroduced himself in the largest payday of the weekend when he cashed in over Bobby Dye Jr for the $20,000 Check.

With 63 cars setting the field, Vetter kicked off eliminations with .013 total over Gage Cameron and then in Round 2, gave up a thou at the tree but climbed around Pedro Valadez at the stripe to go dead on 6 and advance. Trey dropped .018 total in Round 3 over Leroy Duran and locked out Jason Vanderpool in Round 4 using a .024 total. Then in the semis, Vetter had the ‘67 Camaro with Ryan Mangus throw .013 total at him, but cleared that by .006 after going .004 on the tree and sitting it down dead 2.

Meanwhile, Bobby Dye Jr and the Specialty Fasteners American Car found solid rhythm early and used .022 total to bump Krista Suydam in Round 1, .003 tree in Round 2 to close out Cameron Webb’s run, and then managed a .004 window at the stripe in Round 3 over Rob Whetstone. In the 1/4’s, Craig Merrillees lit the red build while Dye was .005 green behind him and coasted to the stripe, leaving only Travis Theobald left in the semis for Dye to advance. Once again, Bobby used .016 tree and consistent finishline approach to be .010 above while Travis chased out the gate and never recovered, having to fight at the stripe to be .005 under.

In the final, Vetter stayed hot on the tree and his .007 to Dye’s .016 set an early look and managed to maintain as both drivers slowed down track and Trey stayed ahead to be .02 above and collect the payday!

Congrats to Both Drivers on the big stage, and we appreciate the racer support to get this shootout full and ran very efficiently.

BARNHART BREAKS THROUGH WITH FIRST WCBR TITLE AND STAN KEEPS DEMING CAMP ON A ROLL WITH HUGHES PERFORMANCE SATURDAY CHAMPIONSHIPS AT THE SILVER STATE COMMERCIAL REFRIGERATION WEST COAST CLASSIC!!!

Long time west coast bracket racer Mark Barnhart, made the trip to Bakersfield for the Classic knowing full well he was going to be turning around to drive right back by his Placitas, NM, home for a race the following week in Texas. But Barnhart left nothing on the table throughout the weekend, driving both entries deep each day and on Hughes Performance
Saturday, he cashed in for the $15,000 Title.

With 13 cars remaining in Round 5, Mark parlayed a .019 pack to take out the always tough Marko Perivolaris and then laid down .020 the following round while Jason Vanderpool turned it .002 Red.

Friday nights’ Door Car Clash Champion, Mark Yeager, was working his way opposite of Barnhart in the roadster and used a perfect light and .006 under to push Lindsey Meserve out at 13, and earn a single in round of 7 to guarantee a shot in semis.

At 4, Barnhart used an .027 advantage out the gate against Dean Bush, while Yeager caught a tick of luck letting go .024 to Fridays Winner, Daniel McClelland who went .004 Red.

In the final, Barnhart used his 4th .00 light of the day and laid down 4 total against the roadster of Yeager who was on the stop and then making big mph charges at the stripe all weekend and went .004 under his dial.

The Patriarch of the Deming Family out of Nampa, ID, Stan, pushed through some of the best in the Pro Field to take his Hughes Performance Saturday $5,000 Title. Round 3 matchup with Ryan Mangus resulted in a .002 stripe while laying down .028 total. Round 4, he got a free trip when Gus Stanko left early, and then took the .011 MOV at 6 cars against Tyler Smith with both drivers going .005 under.

In the semis, Deming found Henry Roberson-who is definitely making a run every day here- and locked him out with a .006 light and .014 above to Robersons’ .027 and dead 1, also earning Deming lane choice in final.

WCBR Main Event Winner Kyle Rizzoli, found himself in the mirror on the ladder come round 4, having to eliminate one of his entries left at 12 cars and then in a monster matchup anywhere in the country, took down Justin Lamb in Round 5. With both Deming and Henry Roberson advancing to the semis, and already both have had a competition bye, Rizzoli got his ticket to the title round.

Final Round shed only .002 difference at the tree, but Deming capitalized on slight advantage and carried it to a .015 above, while Rizzoli grabbed the stripe .005 under.

Congrats again to Stan and the Deming family and to Kyle Rizzoli in his runner up finish!

Thanks to the whole crew at Hughes Performance and especially Kevin Kleinweber, their support the last 11 years has been big part of our success and commitment!!

YEAGER PUTS THE SG COMBO TO WORK TO TAKE OUT LAMB FOR THE $10,000 WCBR DOOR CAR CLASH FRIDAY NIGHT!!!

In just its’ 3rd year, the WCBR Door Car Clash has proven to become a weekend favorite, and Mark Yeager will take no exception to that after picking up the $10,000 Win Friday Night over multi time WCBR Main Event Winner Justin Lamb.

The Reigning So Cal Pro Gas Champion, who petioned to his .90 peers to get out and bracket race for some Big Money and even threw some money out of his own pocket to provoke them, set everything aside Friday night to show you CAN bracket race a Super Gas car!!

Yeager, Hollister-Ca, opened up in fashion over RFTM Winner Pierson Deming in Round 1 and Daniel McClelland in Round 2 who had just won the $10,000 Main Event an hour earlier! 3rd Round had the elder McClelland light the red opposite of Mark putting him in the super pro semis with Matt Hartzell who fouled away his shot at the class championship by .009. Awaiting Yeager was, the Inaugural Door Car Clash Champion, Brad Pierce.

Pierce opened up elims with a .002 victory over David Beckwith, a come from behind win finding a .004 window against Andrew Olson Round 2, and a clean mistake free lap against Robert Butler before finally getting that carried bye a chance to advance him in the semis. In the round to the Money, both Pierce and Yeager were red, but Yeager got the TruStart win by virtue of .007 and set his chance at the $10,000.

On the Pro side of the field, Justin Lamb did Justin Lamb things and executed them as planned. In round 1 he set the tone against Randy Standlee early letting go .007 and not leaving Randy any room to compromise at the stripe. Paige Smith gave up .024 on the tree second round to Lamb, leading to a double breakout with Justin closer to the safe side by .014. 3rd Round found CW Hoefer opposite lane, and after he squeezed it .001 RED, Lamb took a time run to be 5.683 on a 5.69 to move into the round of 3. The other Smith sibling, this time Tyler, took .015 advantage off the starting line and had control of the race but slowed and JL found the .010 cushion to sneak around at the big end.

As Justin entered the Pro Championship round, one of the biggest up and coming names on the west coast, Henry Roberson, North Highlands-CA, used a .004 and .004 under to take out Kyle Rizzoli, a .020 Pack in Round 2 against Denny Valvo earning him the potential bye that he carried into round 4 after Zac Eling turned it red in the 3rd round.

In the Pro Championship final, both drivers left within a thou of each other, and while Henry slowed down track, Lamb took the 2010 Cobalt to a comfortable cruise across the stripe.

This race format puts our 2 class winners in the $10,000 Final, and Yeager in the Super Gas fit Corvette Roadster took on one of the winningest drivers in Lamb this sport has seen in the former Super Stock/Comp Eliminator Cobalt. But Yeager kept the Championship Belt with the Super Pro Drivers, as he left first .015 with Lamb’s trailing .038 off the line and Yeager maintained control and got the last win light of the night!!

Congrats to Mark Yeager on his first WCBR Big Check win and to Justin Lamb on his Runner Up. Big thank you to the racers that supported this Shootout. This year we elected to lift the cap of 32 total and started the race with 40 entries!!

MCCLELLAND AND MYHRE PICK UP 1ST WCBR MAIN EVENT CHAMPIONSHIPS ON KIDD PERFORMANCE FRIDAY AT THE WEST COAST CLASSIC!!

Both David Myhre and Daniel McClelland are no strangers to WCBR Winners Circle, but both had yet to do it on a Main Event stage at the Silver State Commercial Refrigeration West Coast Classic. But Kidd Performance Friday proved to be a “bucket list” (as Myhre claimed in interview) opportunity for both racers!

McClelland, a 2x 20K Shootout Winner, put 8 rounds together no worse than .019 on the tree and even set it dead zero in both rounds 5 and 6. The ‘27 Buggy was on a tear, and after dispatching Shawn Hart with 5 total, D-Mac earned the single in the Semis with Sportsman Racing Standout Parker Theobald marching his way towards the money round, who also was leaving nothing to work with in the opposite lane and clinching the stripe in 1st class fashion. In the semis, Parker left essentially dead even with Trey Vetter and cinched up the brake pedal just right to get behind and the nod in a double breakout race.

In the final, McClelland was out the gate first by .015 and after Parker slowed down track, Daniel was able to cushion his position enough to take the win for $10,000!!!

In the Kidd Performance $5,000 Pro Field, David Myhre and his blacked out ‘91 Cavalier found the dial and did not budge from it by much of anything all afternoon. Myhre who has an arsenal of Racecars, has been successful with both his S10 and Dragstet at WCBR Events in Shootouts and RFTM Races, but it was the Cavalier that carried him to his first Main Event.

In the 1/4’s David used .030 total to bump one of his Ballers Teammates, Henry Roberson, with both drivers being dead on. Tyler Smith was .004 on the tree and took His wheel standing ‘67 Chevelle to the comfortable stripe over Zac Eling who was chasing out the gate and ran out of real estate. A west coast Family Feud in the 3rd pair saw Stephanie Paz bump out her pops Dennis Paz by .004 at the stripe and with her carrying the bye, earned her spot in the money round.

In the lone semi, Myhre made the experienced decision at the stripe after chasing out the gate by .008 to get behind Smith. Both drivers went under and Myhre protected it better by .023.

With two very familiar with each other racers from nor-cal the final, Myhre managed .033 total with the advantage on the tree, forcing Stephanie to try to find a window that resulted in .008 under her dial.

Congrats to our 2025 Kidd Performance Friday Champions here at the Classic and huge THANK YOU to Kidd Performance and Mark Kidd and his family for the ongoing confidence and support to provide this
Platform for the last 11 years!!!

PIERSON DEMING KICKS OFF CLASSIC WITH THURSDAY RUN FOR THE MONEY!!!!!

Test and Tune Thursday at the Silver State Commercial Refrigeration West Coast Classic kicked off a full weekend of BIG Money!! Racers got shots at the track to get dialed in for the weekend ahead and an “OG” Classic Run For The Money was brought back for the 2025 event. WCBR guaranteed $1,000 to win and 100% payback to the 7 other cars that would make up the field.

WCBR used this format at Fontana back from 2015-2019 and decided to throw this twist back into Thursday with the 20K Shootout moving back to Saturday Night. All racers in TNT were eligible to buy in for $20 to make a Qualifying run and the top 4 Total Packages were laddered in both Pro and Super Pro.

The 1st Round in Pro saw Cliff Hall knock out Ryan Priddy after he lit the red bulb and Sacha Hoefer took household bragging rights early over husband CW in a “who doesnt want the stripe-stop fest” at the stripe.

On the other side in Super Pro, Zac Eling took out #1 Qualifier Tyler Myrup and Pierson Deming capitalized on Krista Suydam going .001 on the RED Side.

In the semis, Cliff Hall laid down .013 total in the ‘70 Maverick leaving Sacha dead in the water after trailing by more than double that on the starting line. Idaho standout Pierson Deming then took the Super Pro win light after yet another .011 light and Eling who was chasing by only 3 hun in dial dropped it .003 RED.

This set up the $1,000 to win final and Deming again got his window on the tree ,.013, but Hall who was .000 was in the drivers seat, both drivers cross .01 above with Deming’sliding ahead by .001 picked up the money and where he left off in 2024!!

Congrats to both Deming and Hall for getting out to an early success this weekend!
