A day we will never forget. 🪻 (08/20/26)

Many of you saw Marion’s post yesterday sharing her gratitude for everyone who has helped bring this project to life, and I just wanted to hop on and share a few more photos from this chapter of the journey.

And trust me, we have even more beyond these. Another photo dump is coming soon because there is simply too much to fit into one post.

None of this would be possible without all of you, and we are so incredibly appreciative. We cannot wait to watch this project come together, and even more so, we cannot wait to welcome you into the space. 💜

Because truly, that is what the Wiggins family is doing this for.

For the former students who remember this place.
For the history buffs who appreciate the story behind these walls.
For the lavender lovers.
For the children and families.
For the neighbors, visitors, and everyone in between.

We want this to be a place where people can enjoy one another, make memories, learn something new, create community, and simply have a safe and welcoming space to gather.

That is what Bloomfield Schoolhouse Lavender is all about.

We are so grateful to have you alongside us for this journey, and there are SO many more exciting things to come. This is honestly just the beginning.

Every time I blink, another month passes, so before we know it, the schoolhouse will be finished and we’ll be opening these doors to all of you.

Here’s to the memories already made, the ones still to come, and one very special old schoolhouse getting a whole new chapter. 🪻

These three sat for the first portraits.

Chance Varner Photography came out to the apothecary this summer and photographed George, Annie, and Augie so we could see what Portrait Day would actually look like before we asked anyone else to trust it. I was expecting a nice snapshot. What came back are the pictures I have been pulling up on my phone to show people ever since, which is not something I have ever done with a school picture.

Saturday, September 12, 10am to 2pm at the apothecary. Five minutes per child, real painterly lighting, and a schoolhouse set built with lavender from the farm. Reserve a time or walk in, and portraits start at $4.99.

We made your plans for tomorrow night EASY!😜

Final Friday is happening in downtown LaGrange from 5:00 to 8:00 PM right outside our doors and you’re going to want to get out and enjoy it! 📍

LaGrange Main Street is putting on an amazing evening for the community with live music, food trucks, a chalk art contest for the kids, and so much more!

And right here at Bloomfield Schoolhouse Lavender, we’re joining in on the fun with a family-filled evening at the apothecary! Our doors will be open until 8:00 PM for some late-night shopping, so whether you’re bringing the whole family or you’re flying solo and never get the chance to shop during our normal hours, this evening is for you!

For our families and kiddos:

📖 5:00 to 6:00 PM: Story Hour in the pavilion right outside our storefront.

🍿 Popcorn Bar: Let your kiddos create their own fun popcorn creation!

✂️ Crafts: Fun crafts will be available throughout the store for the rest of the evening.

And don’t worry if you can’t make it to Story Hour! You’re still more than welcome to stop in anytime between 5:00 and 8:00 PM to enjoy the popcorn bar, crafts, and everything else happening downtown.

Last Thursday meant more to me than I can easily put into words.

More than 50 of you came out to stand with us as we broke ground on the final phase of the Bloomfield Schoolhouse restoration. Friends, neighbors, our chamber family, our church family from LaGrange United Methodist, and even my family who drove in from New Hampshire. The LaGrange Standard and KPC Media were there to capture it. It was a full, warm, beautiful afternoon.

I have been working toward this moment for a long time. Getting to stand in front of this community and share the story of how we got here was something I will carry with me for a long time. Watching our kids take it all in made it even more special.

The schoolhouse will be done this November. I cannot wait to have you all inside it.

Yesterday we dropped off fresh-cut lavender bundles to Jenny Lou’s Greenery in Angola, Indiana, another beautiful woman-owned business we absolutely love working with. 📍

Whether you need a houseplant for your home or Pinterest-worthy flowers for your wedding, they have you covered. They also carry our lavender lotion, which makes our hearts so happy! 🪻

There’s something so special about women supporting women and two small businesses putting so much passion into what they do while genuinely wanting their communities to thrive and grow.

And their store? An absolute dream. You would never guess you were in small-town Indiana. We’re so lucky to work alongside such talented local women! 🤍
