From meeting Miss Rodeo Hondo Raylan Riggs, who’s carrying on a family legacy in the rodeo world, to talking with riders coming in from all over the country ready to put it all on the line… you can feel something special building here.

Today at the Rosethorne Parade in Lafitte, we witnessed something truly special. 💙🇺🇸

In front of the community, police chief Marcel Rodriguez officially deputized Devarjaye Daniel a moment that stopped the parade and touched everyone there.

With the United Cajun Navy making sure DJ rode in the parade, Lafitte showed the world what community really means.

“D.J. Daniels, do you solemnly swear to obey the Constitution of the United States of America and the Constitution of Louisiana… so help you God?
You’re now a Sergeant in the Jean Lafitte Police Department.”

Another great day in Lafitte at the Rosethorne Parade ⚜️💜💚💛

Families lined the road, kids chasing throws, music rolling through the neighborhood, and floats built with heart—not factories. This parade isn’t about big sponsors or big city flash. It’s about tradition, neighbors, and generations coming together the same way they always have.

The Krewe of Rosethorne once again showed why this parade means so much to our community. Local pride, local faces, and that unmistakable Rosethorne spirit.

Rain or shine, year after year—this is Lafitte.
And we wouldn’t have it any other way. 💙⚜️

THE STORY OF EDWARD PERRIN
A Beatnik Productions Documentary

In Lafitte, life is shaped by water, seasons… and the people who call the bayou home.

At 93 years old, Edward Perrin is still going strong.

Before the classroom…
before the legacy…
he was a young boy trapping in the marsh, living in camps, learning life the hard way.

He grew into a teacher, a fisherman, a husband of 70 years, and the kind of man generations simply call “Mr. Perrin.”

This film tells the story of Edward and Muriel Perrin through their children, their memories, and a lifetime built together along the bayou.

And like many South Louisiana families, some of their history was nearly lost.

Years of photographs and keepsakes were destroyed in floods.

So to truly tell their story, we didn’t just rely on what survived —
we carefully restored and recreated pieces of the past, using modern tools and technology to rebuild moments that time washed away.

Not to replace memories…
but to bring them back to life.

Because some stories are too important to lose.

This isn’t just a documentary.
It’s a preservation of a family… a community… and a way of life.

❤️ And after the first viewing, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
