Today forecast calls for laughs and smiles when traveling to Portland, Oregon. I was recently invited to attend the Travel Portland Fam and I left this fam experience feeling like family. It felt like home to me. Portland, with all their offerings, felt familiar to me in an intimate way. The locals were friendly, and the strangers talked to you like they had you over for the dinner the night before. Speaking of dinner, the food was new and amazing! The Rice Krispy sushi roll was worth the whole trip by itself!

The hotels offered all levels of experiences from your Ritz Carlton to your boutique The Nines Hotel. From the downtown corridors it only took us roughly forty minutes to arrive to their countryside wineries where you could taste the olive oils and soak in all the local flare. I couldn’t understand how this city added up to so many hand-crafted, customized experiences. All I know is the rain didn’t stop us from enjoying the moment.

The infrastructure of the city is accessible for local or visiting travelers right from the airport to your downtown cityscape. The entire Travel Portland team Jamie McCool Tracey Chapman, IOM Antwain Peterson, Chanel Sheragy, CMP, CASE Dione Williams, Jennifer Needham, Kim Graves, James Jessie, Shawna Wellman, CMP, CASE, Erica Vanausdoll and Kayla Hall deserve a huge ovation. The teamwork and attention to detail ushered in such a timeless experience. The city of Portland was singing my whole life ….

Recently I traveled to the country of the Dominican Republic where I would finally touch the sands of Punta Cana. This would not have been possible in 2023 without my gracious host Jessica-Leigh Arends with Meetings Today Live! Thank you for ushering me into this amazing destination and introducing me to some of the best inclusive resorts in the Caribbean.

I really enjoyed the level of engagement from Jessica and the entire Meetings Today team! The face-to-face time with all the suppliers and intimate activities were a brilliant way to experience the destination. A special thank you to our host the Hard Rock Punta Cana. The ambiance and resort offerings truly made my stay full of memories I will never forget! Your entire staff was top shelf, and I can’t believe the dance party in the guest lobby. Instant Classic!

This forum of suppliers and vendor partners was simply amazing, and I left the event knowing I have some great partners to help grow and sustain my business for meeting for just today, but tomorrow!

I was invited recently to a special advocacy event held at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa. The California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) hosted the Entrepreneurship & Economic Mobility Task Force workshop for small businesses based in California. A special thank you to Josaline Cuesta with Small Business Majority for the finding me and introducing me to this great forum. The networking was amazing, and I was honored to be in the room with other entrepreneurs and learn how policy advocates are advancing resources while providing strategies for better access for small businesses. A special thank you to Director Tara Lynn Gray for ushering in an amazing introductory experience.

I’m looking forward to attending future forums hosted by CalOSBA and spread the word about how small businesses can advance their reach and have sustainability.

We recently attended IMEX 2023, and my team and I are so grateful that what happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas! We meet some incredible people not just suppliers.

This year more than ever I was impressed by the level of engagement. Our team was introduced to some incredible offerings, and we look forward to experiencing them with our clients.

What a blessing to reconnect with so many familiar faces while meeting so many new ones. I personally haven’t been to IMEX since 2019 and it was rejuvenating to see a sea of industry professionals pushing hospitality forward.

A special thank you to Amalia Bido with Minor Hotels and Rebecca Riggs with Posadas Hotels for being such gracious host!

Until next time! While for me personally, I may not return until 2025! I’m IMEXHAUSTED! LOL
