- An investigation is underway Sunday night following a stabbing in .
Shortly after 7:00 p.m., multiple calls were received reporting a fight in progress on the off-ramp from northbound I-5 to Tamarack Avenue. According to preliminary information, two drivers were involved in the altercation. During the fight, one person was stabbed. The stabbing victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, though their condition was not immediately known.
The suspect vehicle, a Chevrolet pickup truck, was seen traveling northbound on Carlsbad Boulevard in the minutes following the stabbing. Just after 8:30 p.m., the truck was located in the area of South Ditmar Street and Oceanside Boulevard in Oceanside. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
All northbound lanes of Interstate 5 were closed for a time as authorities secured the scene. The freeway has since reopened, though the northbound Tamarack Avenue off-ramp is expected to remain closed into Monday morning. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes while the investigation continues.
