LaFontaine Learning Community is offering a child care option for families affected by local school closings. Spaces are limited, so please sign up ASAP to ensure your child's spot.

As schools close for the upcoming weeks, LaFontaine Learning Community realizes this leaves many parents without child care. As our mission is to serve families, we want to help families without child care options, especially those in the medical and emergency services fields. Our community is reliant on these people showing up to work to serve us all, and LLC would like to help make that possible by offering a place for their children during this time.

We have recruited local elementary staff to help us care for elementary-age children during this time of school closures. To enroll in Corona Care (our name for this limited time of care), please go to www.TheElementary.org/CoronaCare.

Spaces are limited, will be given on a first-come first-served basis, and will be prioritized to families in the medical and emergency services fields.

Extra precautions will be taken in terms of cleaning, hygiene, and student interaction during this time. The LLC Staff are happy to give parents more details on the planned processes for this.

At this time, Indiana child cares are allowed to remain open. If the FSSA decides to close all childcares, or if cases of COVID-19 increase in the local area, LLC will also need to forego providing care.

Corona Care will begin on Wednesday, March 18, with the possibility of opening as soon as tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17.

Do you know someone who loves working with children, is super organized and is looking for employment this summer? LaFontaine Learning Community may have the job for them!

Believe it or not we're already making plans for the first summer of activities at LLC! Can you help us find the best person to lead our Summer Day Camp program?

The SDC Coordinator will oversee planning and ex*****on of the Summer Day Camp program, working primarily with elementary students.

This would be a great position for someone who has the summers off from work or a college student looking for a summer job or internship.

LaFontaine Learning Community is now able to accept CCDF vouchers, a federal program that helps families who qualify with child care expense!

We are THRILLED to announce that LaFontaine Learning Community is now a CCDF eligible provider! CCDF is a federal program that helps low-income families obtain child care by covering a portion of their tuition.

To obtain this status our staff has worked hard to elevate our program to this higher standard, including additional training, improved facilities and advanced record keeping.

We hope by accepting CCDF vouchers we will make quality child care more obtainable for our community.
