Hey there!

Punk in the Park will be held May 2019. We totally know it's a long time.

We said that we had one last big show left in us, and we want to make sure it's as cartoonishly massive and insane as possible. That means booking established and touring acts, raising a lot of money, and working with city government to push limits, and make an event extreme enough to warrant it being a fitting farewell.

It'll be worth the wait. We want to put together the biggest and most established lineup as possible. That's not cheap or easy.

Thank you for understanding. We'll see you soon!

Hello! A head's up, Punk in the Park 2018 will not be held in May. An August or September date is more realistic due to budgeting concerns and whatnot. This will be our last year, so it needs to be the best it can be.

RIP STDemonseed. 2017-2017.

On November 16, 2017, Nate Burr, Trey David Wells, Scooter Abraham, and Zack Quintana (of Zack Quintana Music) marched bravely on stage at the Kuna's Talent Show. It was their last opportunity to perform at a school function like such, and were not making light of their opportunity.

They played an upbeat song that featured plenty of loud guitar and screaming, which was received fairly positively from the audience. Upon finishing their song, they did something strange and unexpected: They kept playing.

The technicians killed the lights and cut Nate's microphone. He stole one from Trey and bravely continued their act without permission or consent from the staff on site.

They delivered a high-energy, aggressive, and wild second half at the dismay of many of the students working. They wrapped up and hurried off of the stage, to come face to face with furious staff who were appalled by the gall they had all witnessed.

The band was disqualified from any prizes (which is a darn shame because they put on an excellent show) but had walked away with something more valuable: Bragging rights and street cred.

Rest in peace, STDemonseed: Kuna's first and only alt/punk/hardcore band. 2017-2017.

Support local artists yo.

Kuna Punk formally denounces 1332 Records and will never associate with them or their foul and despicable management. We will not work with anyone under their representation or working alongside them.

Boise deserves better than this organization.

This event has been held in Melba in the past, a bit too close to Kuna for our liking. They better thank their lucky stars that this isn't being held here.

Kuna Punk Booking will reach out to local Antifas to create a safe environment for any and all Jewish, black, LGBTQAI+, and any other minority friends who attend our events in the future. They will also create an unwelcome environment for anyone who takes issue with that. We have no respect, no sympathy, and no compassion for N***s, white supremacists, and nationalists at our events. They will be removed on sight and not allowed back. They are not welcome. They should not feel comfortable. They should not feel safe.

This event is disgusting and with any common sense, the organizers will shut it down and keep it from happening in the future. N**i punks are not welcome here.

"Punk in the Park?" More like "7 Alternative Bands And 1 Punk Band In the Park."

In case you haven't heard yet, Punk in the Park 2018 will be the last occurance of the annual event. We'll be capping it off as a trilogy.

There are a few reasons for this decision.

1) Keeping the event free (which is an essential aspect of it in our eyes) is getting harder and harder to do as it becomes more expensive to pay for and grow effectively. Much of the event is paid for by businesses locally, and the remaining fees are covered out of pocket by Kuna Punk Booking.

2) The head organizer, Nate Burr, has moved to Boise and it's increasingly difficult for him to maintain and plan shows of that size from so far away.

3) With the current plans in place for Punk in the Park 2018, we feel it will have served its purpose by the end of next year's event: To shake up the community, create an interest in Boise's local music scene, and to introduce folks to new like-minded friends and allies.

This is not to say that Kuna will occasionally get a punk show, akin to Punkfest Northwest 2016 with DIVIDES and the Home Team. It simply means that the Punk in the Park brand will be retired and shows will become smaller.

We understand that Punk in the Park 2018 will be our last year, and we're going to go all-out to make it all worth-while and extreme. Hopefully by featuring some premiere and recognizable touring acts, the best performers Boise has to offer, and reaching out to more partners for one last giant gig, it will all be worth it.

Please stay tuned to the page and keep eyes out for updates as fall and winter approach. Pre-planning has already started.

Have an awesome summer and we'll definitely see you next year.
