Stringing beans this morning for a Mother's Day and birthday dinner (afternoon dinner, of course). Beans like this get cooked with pork fat and lots of salt. IYKYK. Speaking of, do you hear the bacon for breakfast starting to sizzle in the background? A day in the country.

Trying out biscuits by today! The layers were lovely, and the honey added a perfect sweetness. 6.7 rating! It would be higher, except I'm more so looking for a fluffy biscuit recipe vs layered. Personal preference! These were still great!

Made some beet-pickled eggs! We always have these for Easter because they are such a lovely spring color. I let mine pickle for about 5 days, although they could go much longer. We ate them with Easter dinner today, sliced with a healthy sprinkle of salt.

Final stage of my cultured butter journey: shaping! I'm using my grandmother's mold, which has to be 100 years old. I had to oil it and soak it in water before pressing the butter into the form. I'm so excited by the final product!
