Little surprises after letting go/ pivoting DO exist! I planted these “firework” dahlias (appropriately named!) from seed a year and a half ago. I gave up on dahlias this year since so many didn’t do well during the 2021 season. I even dug up most of the tubers when I planted daffodils in their place last fall. But look at this beauty! I missed a couple tubers and the plant survived the winter (definitely a surprise there).

It’s such a thrill finding new things in the garden. And even more of a thrill to share these treasures with you!

New this year: Frosted Explosion fancy grass! Since weeds are common around here 🙃 I had to pay extra care to remember what I planted and where so I didn’t pull the fancy grass before I could distinguish it from other grasses. It’s such a thrill to grow something new. I love it! Do you?

I’ve got two boys who are so alike- and so different! My sunflowers here reminded me of them. They can’t stand being apart, yet mess with each other constantly. Their personalities are so different, yet complement the other.

Grow on little ones! It’s a joy and pleasure to watch you grow.

I stole a quick few moments in my front garden between dinner and a baseball game to cut these beauties! I’m looking forward to using these flowers after they’ve been dried to make boutonnières, corsages and arrangements!

My first rose!

Out of the 6 rose bushes I planted in March, 1 is doing great! (🤫 1 is completely dead) and the other 4 are on the struggle bus. So I am really celebrating this beauty right here! And I’m also getting nerdy trying to save the other 4 bushes from an untimely demise. 😬

It’s such a blast for me to hand bouquets over to fill spaces and homes. This one was a baby shower gift, using azalea and some (overgrown 🤫) grasses!

Droplets of rain on delicate daffodils- the fresh smell ushers in peace and calm. Ok ok it also helps that the kids were inside so there actually was peace and calm while I was picking these. ☺️
