Running a business is such a blessing. It has been called the American dream.
It is also NOT EASY.
What they don’t tell you is that it can cause loads of stress, severe anxiety, and can drain you mentally to the point of depression - even in the most laid back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

Friends will expect discounts on everything and value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.

You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails. I work 24/7 -7 days a week and it's still not enough.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work life balance. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, and out in the field working..... All whilst being a parent, family support, friend...

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5-10 years. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially this past year.

Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient….. and hopefully more of us will stick around! Shout out to all those still showing up.

COPY & PASTED because it was pretty spot on with regards to most small businesses.

Congratulations if you recently said YES!!!

We're seeing several ask about pricing while crowdsourcing in FB groups...

As a wedding planner...

An average "day of or even month of" puts in over 30 hours themselves not including staff or supplies they bring...

Usually it's
✔️Initial meeting to go over your ideas, vision, needs (depending on their experience & education that meeting could be 1-4+ hours)
✔️At least one venue tour or final walk through (that's 1-2 hours)
✔️They should review contracts & services (that could be up to 1 hour per vendor and technically most professional weddings have over 15 services to make them run smoothly)
✔️Time creating schedules (3-10 hours with revisions)
✔️Time calling each vendor to check and see if they received schedules, have questions, confirm services...
✔️Rehearsal
✔️Day of event (just at the venue is up to 12 hours)
✔️Plus pre-event planning, checking weather, back up plans in place, packing emergency kits, if they bring any decor- clean, pack..
✔️Plus all their travel time throughout all meetings, rehearsal and event day
✔️Wear & tear on their vehicles
✔️Don't forget meals (especially if client isn't providing lunch, snacks or even dinner during that 12 hour stretch)
✔️Then there's post event time- unpacking, cleaning, reorganizing items & inventory back in their system and rest from being on their feet for probably 18+ hours
✔️That's not including their inventory of emergency supplies & decor, walkie-talkies, clipboards, printing of schedules, computers to create schedules, cellphones to stay in contact...
✔️Plus their level of experience and education plays a big factor in pricing
✔️Make sure they have insurance also!
✔️Oh... and theyve gotta pay their taxes, so they should factor in those amounts when pricing too
✔️Not to mention cover all other office overhead (power, rent, gas, office supplies)
✔️Then.. they have to pay their assistant(s) on top of that (which on average is $12-25pp ph)

Bottom line= you get what you pay for ... INVEST in the ONE person who is with you throughout the process & with you all day.

That's why we call it event management 😉 & we customize our packages to fit you
