Once upon a time, Tom and Christi met online on a website in the early days of internet dating. They were each looking for their future best friend. Tom was about to give up on internet dating totally because, everyone he met had a fake picture of themselves on their dating profile. Their picture screamed, “I feel cute” while reality was, “YIKES”. Christi was getting freaked out because of ‘certain videos’ being PM’d. But luck prevailed and they actually met in person. By their first date at Cecil’s in Orlando (coincidentally now connected to Rock Pit Brewing), they were hooked on each other. So they were hooked, but refused to get married until they had gone on 100 Honeymoons together.
Their first honeymoon was to California where they took a class about how to build motorcycles. It was amazing! They followed up on that with honeymoons to Sturgis, Latonia, The Republic of Texas Rally, random other places, a friends weddings in Pennsylvania, driving a fifth wheel over the Verrazano Narrows bridge (scary), building a garage together in Kissimmee, (that was a small one - only 900 square feet), building their first Tuk Tuk and taking it on the Fireball Run across the country in season 2. Maybe they got up to to 25 honeymoons, then the reality hit - that constant honeymooning was JUST NOT THEIR THING!
Tom and Christi’s thing is creating things and connecting people together. The garage they built was good, the Tuk Tuk was good, and creating businesses was also good. Being on “How It’s Made” on TV was fun, and getting awards for Tom’s custom motorcycles is also fun. And they both believe in Historic Downtown Kissimmee. They opened Kapp and Kappy B&B in 2017, and are about to break ground on Phase 2 of the B&B in 2020.
As the Universe is inclined to do - it gave them a nudge, and an opportunity presented itself to be able to develop the location of Kissimmee’s former Coca-Cola bottling plant and a former lumberyard, a cobbler and a stable (y’all historians this is all on the Sanborn Fire Maps)
