Ashley Child, who has more than 10 years of experience in the bridal retail industry, opened the boutique, naming it after Nyanza Road in Lakewood, Washington, where her parents wed 36 years ago in her grandparents’ backyard. “If you had asked me five years ago if I saw myself as a business owner, I would have said no,” Child says. “But I had the experience, the reputation, the relationships in the industry and an incredible support group—I knew I was the right person to do it.” Nyanza Bridal is proud to present a curated collection of luxury gowns from internationally renowned wedding dress designers. It has the largest selection of Vera Wang gowns in Washington, and is one of the state’s only stockists for Anne Barge, Galia Lahav, Lela Rose, Reem Acra, Savannah Miller and Romona Keveža. “Nyanza is not your typical bridal salon. But that’s because we don’t believe there is a ‘typical’ bride anymore,” says Child. “We simply believe that all women are entitled to the highest-quality service, and we are dedicated to providing brides with a once-in-a-lifetime, expertly curated and luxurious shopping experience.”
