I met yesterday with Ms. China and Ms. Alicia about the relaunch of ✨ Niles News ✨

📰 WHAT IS NILES NEWS 🗞: Niles News is a quarterly newsletter produced through a partnership between Julianne's LLC and KVC Niles staff and youth. KVC Missouri Niles is a nonprofit residential facility in Kansas City, MO.

🗞 Niles News gives the kids another outlet to be creative and build skills such as in research and communication — writing, photography, interviewing, searching the internet and using reliable sources.
🗞 Niles News informs staff, families and visitors of the happenings at Niles.
🗞 Niles News teaches kids about journalism and offers a new avenue of learning with informative articles.
🗞 Niles News strives to get everyone excited and involved at Niles!

At the meeting, we established a deadline to shoot for to publish the first edition of Niles News in over a year — July 31! But keep your eyes peeled for a special edition that may come even sooner than that. 🧐

🗞 UPCOMING EVENTS! With the help of Ms. China, Niles News now will keep its readers up to date on upcoming Niles events!

CHANGES:
Julianne's LLC produces Niles News. Previously Ashley would spend a few hours a month with Ms. Alicia shooting photos around campus, photographing events or mentoring youth on photography or writing. Because Julianne's LLC is now based out of Kingsland, GA, and only in Kansas City for a few weeks out of the year, Ashley's role will mostly be producing the newsletter and remotely meeting with Niles staff to discuss content.

📰 Introducing Ms. China!
Ms. China of KVC Niles will now work with Ms. Alicia to take kids out on assignments. Ms. China will mentor kids as the content curator. Her role will be to go out with youth and mentor them in creating content for the newsletter. Ms. China is passionate about building up youth and showing them what they're capable of. She is a WELCOME addition to the Niles News team. Ms. Alicia, KVC Niles, is the editor in charge of Niles News and Ashley, Julianne's LLC, is the content/production editor.

Ashley of Julianne's LLC has a BA in journalism and a minor in English Literature. She has worked in journalism for over a decade. Outside of working for her clients with Julianne's LLC, she works as a reporter/photographer for a NE Florida newspaper and lives on a ranch where they take care of a garden, three goats and two ponies.
