A moss-filled tree branch installation at the flower studio from over the weekend. Earthy, mystical, and perhaps a little bit haunting when the shadows creep in.

A huge thank you to Jenny Jaser Nabiha Rahaman-Çam نورا Aisha | NYC | Long Island Bridal Makeup Artist who photographed and modeled with this design on Friday. Photos coming soon💘

Danylo and Nastasia’s wedding at Breeze Hill Farm and Preserve in early September was a daydream.

A reception space tucked away in a hidden orchard, enveloped by the scent of fresh apples. Waterfalls of hydrangea cascading from winding serpentine tables. Locally-grown gems: dahlias, zinnias, lissy, Queen Anne’s lace, and sunnies, dancing out of lavish centerpieces. Overcast skies that made way for the warm summer sun, followed by an intimate candlelit dinner at dusk. The kind of celebration that embodies love, and stops time.

Always a pleasure working with Vita Giannone and this dream team:

A ketchup + mustard fall color palette filled with dahlias and zinnias from the garden.

As the temperatures drop and the growing season slows down, we’re cherishing every single curly, loopy, frilly stem that makes its way towards the sun. Yeah, I’m talking to you Agave zinnia.

Three family members have passed since the end of May. Some days it feels like grief is dragging me by the ankles. Other days I sit with the bittersweet truth, that this great sadness is the price we pay for loving our people with our whole chest.

This installation, The Crossing, is a reflection of how we stay connected to our loved ones after they’ve left this realm.

Is it talking to an empty passenger seat on a late night drive home? Is it marking their name in ink on our body? Is it wearing their old jewelry like talisman? Is it cooking their hand-scribbled recipe, and adding an extra place setting at the table? Is it visiting this one particular park bench, and you can’t quite put your finger on it, but when you’re near the bench, you feel… something?

Perhaps these small acts of devotion are a bridge to another world, whether we see it with our mere mortal eyes or not. When we reach out to our loved ones, I’d like to think they’re reaching back to us.

The Crossing is a piece that says, “I love you, and I wish I could stay. But I’ll see you again soon.”

The last slide is a poem by Wendell Berry that I keep coming back to.

oooh we love a theme. especially when it involves a peachy-pink citrus color palette like our recent Aperol Spritz soirée with Jennifer Enright | Worth A Shot Events, Inc™® 🍊

for these designs, we paired local, seasonal flowers like snapdragons, zinnias, dahlias, phlox, cosmos, lilies, and forsythia foliage, with traditional bangers like the Free Spirit rose and Tequila Sunrise pompons. gallivanting across the island to source locally-grown gems for our arrangements is a top priority, not just because of the ecological reasons. but also because I swear these stems are infused with a certain type of unparalleled love and care that feel like home.
