Every dollar from the auction was added directly to our We**ie Dog Derby cash prize, making the day even more fun for our racers and families.

Romeo’s last rider was Jarrod Deschamp at the Neshoba County Fair. The great Speedy Barrett picked up the mount after his passing.

This weekend, Speedy and Romeo came to the Hancock County Fair… and brought back the trophy!

THE OFFICIAL RACE DAY RESULTS ARE IN! 🏁

Congratulations to everyone who competed, and a special congratulations to OUTLAW Racing and “BAD FACE” on taking home the 2026 J.D. Memorial!

We had a race card packed with top notch horses and some jam-up competition from start to finish.

The Mississippi Horse Racing Association did a little something extra this year! All winner photos will be uploaded here FREE for our horsemen and race teams to download, print, and share as you wish.

What a weekend for our 2026 races!

THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the 2026 Hancock County Fair Horse Races such a success!

To our guests and spectators who packed the grounds and cheered from the rail ,thank you for showing up and supporting us.

To our sponsors ,none of this would be possible without your generosity and belief in what we are building.

To our horsemen, owners, trainers, riders and race teams who traveled from near and far thank you for bringing the horses, the competition and the excitement to Hancock County.

To our volunteers, gate crews, track workers, entertainment & media, and everyone working behind the scenes you were the heartbeat of this event. It took every single one of you working together to pull this off.

And to our MHRA crew thank you for the countless hours, long days, late nights and hard work it took to put all of this together. It truly took all of us working as one to make it happen.

To our We**ie Dog Derby racers, owners and families thank you for bringing the short legs and BIG entertainment!

Thank you to the Hancock County Fair for giving us a place to continue growing this tradition and bring something special to our community.

Most importantly, thank you to our community. Whether you sponsored, volunteered, raced, worked, shared a post, bought a ticket, brought your family or simply came out to support us YOU were part of making this weekend what it was.
