Today at the Market @ Dug In Farms you will find fresh batches of Tarragon Chicken Salad, Shrimp Salad Louis, Tuscan Chickpeas and Artichokes, Low Country Caviar, Tuna with Lemon and Capers, Santa Fd Quinoa Salad, and more. Also, don't forget to get one of those great, take & bake artisan baguettes. Haven't we just really missed those? Well, now you can get them from the DIF market's freezer section. YUM!!!

Look what Nancy made to sell frm the market stand @ Dug In Farms !!! Some of your favorites are there today; including Rice Artichoke Salad, Low Country Caviar, and Tuna with Lemon and Capers, just yo name a few. There is also some of Dug In Farms great dishes such as Shrimp and Orso Salad and Tuscan Artichoke and Chick Pea Salad, along with a new favorite Spicy Vegan Coconut Tomato Soup with Ginger. Come on down to the farm! They are open 11 AM until 5 PM, 7 days/week, with earlier hours starting around Memorial Day Weekend.

Good Afternoon All:

Some of you have been asking about what happened to all the inventory when we closed Carried Away at the end of September. Well, we were very pleased to donate nearly all of it to local non-profit organizations in our community.

Most of the cake decorating ingredients and paper goods were donated to Hatley Bright's program at RCC which educates students planning careers in the food service/management industry. The bulk of ingredients and packaging inventory went to the Healthy Harvest (formerly NN) Food Bank.

Almost all of the Shoppe inventory, including the EVO oils and aged balsamic vinegars, packaged provisions, gift items, gift packaging, etc. went to the Boys and Girls Club of the Northern Neck. They are planning to have several venues set up over the gift buying season where you can purchase these items for gifts or your own needs, with all proceeds going directly to support their important work in our community.

Right now, you have the opportunity to support the work of the Boys and Girls Club by purchasing our ultra premium EVOOs, aged balsamic vinegars, and other packaged provisions you have enjoyed from our shoppe. Jackie at Weekends, located in Kilmarnock, has graciously agreed to host a display of these items for purchase, with all proceeds going directly to the club. Please stop by and take advantage of this opportunity. Weekends hours are Mon-Fri 11-5 Pm, and Sat 10-5 Pm. Thanks so much!

Good Evening All!

As we prepare for our final weekend, we are trying to feature many of your favorite dishes over the years. So, before we announce dinner plans for the weekend, let me just let you know of some of your favorite dishes to be available over the next few days. Tomorrow in the deli case we will have Low Country Caviar and Thai Noodles, as well as the premier Chicken Salad you all love. In addition, we will say "farewell" with Nancy's practically famous old fashioned meatloaf and "adieu" with our much loved Vichyssoise, or if you heat it up, Potage, the fabulous potato and leek soup of French culinary tradition. Also, we will say "hosta la vista" with our delicious and very popular Green Chicken Enchiladas! YAY!

And now our plans for your dinner this weekend ... First, we will have one of our most popular entrees, the delicious and traditionally prepared Coq Au Vin. The alternate entree will be the very popular bacon wrapped filet of beef steak. Both of these entrees are very well received; both will be accompanied by two sides, whatever looks great!

For all of you who have been interested, it appears that the new purchaser of the real estate that has housed "Carried Away Cuisine" for over 2 decades is not interested in purchasing the business as well. Therefore, something new will be housed in this abode. Additionally, Nancy has not been offered a contract to work in the new business. She is now in the process of exploring other options. Hopefully, you will see her offering some of the very things you love and rely upon elsewhere. Stay tuned! We will certainly keep you up to date! And thanks for your kind words over the past few weeks and for your loyal patronage over the years. You are quite valued and appreciated; many of you are even loved!

As we move forward into the final days before our closing, we are offering the opportunity for you, our valued customers, to enjoy some of your favorite dishes one more time. First up, is the very popular Cranberry-Apricot-Almond stuffed Pork Chops with Brandied Mustard Cream Sauce. This will be accompanied by a delicious rice pilaf (so you won't miss one drop of that heavenly sauce) and a veggie side; whatever looks great.

The alternate menu will be our own house interpretation of Cioppino, served with garlic toasts. It will be accompanied by a Mediterranean influenced legume salad and a veggie side; whatever looks great!

Good Evening All!

As we wind down our final days under the current ownership, many of you have requested to enjoy some of your favorite dishes one more time. Many of you have been so kind with the love, appreciation, and support you have expressed; thanks so much! We will continue to do our best right up until our last day on September 30th.

With that in mind, this week we offer two of your favorite and most recently requested entrees. First up, is our VERY popular Jambalaya. I totally get why you love it so much; I do too! It will be accompanied by our house made Roasted Garlic Bread that you love so much and a veggie side, whatever looks great. The alternate entree choice will be oven roasted Wild Caught Salmon with our own, house made Lemon-Dill Sauce. It will be cooked rare, and is delicious warm or at room temperature; whatever you like. It will be accompanied by Rice Artichoke Salad and a veggie side, again whatever looks great.

Good Evening All! There are two items of business that may be of interest to you. First, Carried Away will need to be closed tomorrow, Tuesday 12 September, due to a staffing shortage. We will reopen and resume our regular schedule for the week on Wednesday, 13 September. I'm very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Secondly, many of you have heard that Jackie has sold the real estate inwhich Carried Away resides and much of the equipment. The new owner of the real estate has not indicated at this time that she wishes to purchase the business itself, and has said she will not be purchasing the inventory. With all of this in mind, the last business day of Carried Away Cuisine under our current ownership will be 30 September, 2023. Please check for announcements of further information about our closing days. Both of us are truly grateful for your continuing support. We are blessed to have been so welcomingly embraced by so many in our beautiful community and have enjoyed becoming part of your lives. It's been a very special time for us. Thank you!

This weekend, our dinner offerings include two of your favorite entrees. First up, is our much requested Shrimp Etouffee. It will be accompanied by a simple and delicious rice pilaf and a veggie side; whatever looks great! The alternate choice is Medallions of Spice Rubbed Pork Tenderloin with our own house made Tipsy Peach and Pecan Sauce. This will be accompanied by Quinoa with Roasted Veggies and herbs, and a veggie side; whatever looks great!
