Hola everyone!! We're fast approaching our 16th Annual Keyport Spanish American Festival on August 9th, 2014, and we're excited to bring you another great lineup of entertainment, food, contests, community service recognition, and, if history is on our side, a beautiful and sunny day to celebrate with us.

This past year brought us some challenges as the Keyport Spanish American Club continued with our Sandy recovery efforts. Those challenges have been met and we're fully recovered and ready to serve our members. Drop us a line if you're interested in joining or would like more information on our services and mission.

We're happy to announce that the expansion of our Academic Scholarship Program expansion into greater Monmouth County was a great success. We received essay submittals from many Monmouth County high schools and it was a pleasure reading the perspectives of our Latino high achievers. The prize this year was $2,000 and we'll be introducing the winner at the festival.

The funding for the scholarship awards is driven by our membership dues and raffle ticket sales at the festival. This year we're offering a Super 50/50 raffle to help with the funding. The Affordable Housing Alliance is now taking applications for 15 new
two bedroom manufactured home units that will be available starting the
last week of February. Units will rent for $750 and $850 a month.
Applicants must have been displaced by Sandy, have a valid FEMA case
number and earn less than 60% of median income for their family size.
Units are located in Eatontown, NJ. All are brand new, fully sprinkled,
energy star units. We are working with the Foodbank to stock the units
with food and will be looking for assistance to partially furnish the
units for those needing such help. Units can provide interim or
permanent housing as no maximum length of stay required. Options to
purchase will also be entertained by those interested. Please contact

to be scheduled for our occupancy list.

WEPA!! Our 14th Annual Keyport Spanish American Festival was once again blessed with beautiful weather and a terrific turnout. We're not sure why we've been so lucky for so long but we suspect it may have something to do with the great community spirit the festival represents. Our unending gratitude to our volunteers, sponsors, vendors, honorees, and our loyal attendees that seem to grow exponentially with each anniversary. We thank everyone that touched the festvial and wish you all nothing but the best until we come together again on August 10th, 2013 for our 15th Anniversary. 2013 marks a special milestone in the club's history as we celebrate the Keyport Spanish American Club's 50th year of it's founding. We are planning a special gala event for this celebration so please check back with us on FB for the details.
