For the past 6 years, I’ve helped host & DJ a body painting contest during Fantasy Fest, which a week-long costume party in Key West. It was always a challenge for me to come up with a costume for this event until one day I decided that wearing my scout uniform would be the complete opposite of what people would expect to see. It’s been the outfit I wear every year now and has become a really fun conversation started. Half of my time spent wearing this is people coming up to share their own memories and then noticing my Eagle patch and asking if that’s real. Yup, once an Eagle always an Eagle!

Do a good turn daily 😎

I never would have thought that two guests at a wedding I performed at in Key West would have invited me out Windmill Farm, Illinois, to DJ their own wedding. Hot diggity do I feel grateful 🤠

These clips are from November of last year when my wife and I felt like it would be a great excuse do to some exploring and we scheduled a site visit with the couple. After 15 months of planning, soon it'll be THEIR wedding day and it's time to help them host a knee slappin' good time, y'all! (do Illinoisans even say y'all 😆)

Cheers to when my wife and I did a mock wedding ceremony on the Chicago River 🥂

Our actual wedding was in Key West, where we met and where half of our life is, but what I learned that night was that if we ended up having our wedding in Chicago, she was hoping it'd be on a boat on the Chicago River! I'm glad I was able to kinda recreate that for her 🥰

We did this during the Chicago wedding vendor river cruise I host last week, where my buddy Jake came up with the idea to host a mock wedding to add to the theme. Great idea, huh?!

Over the past 13 years working in the private event industry, I've learned that building a relationship with vendors who share a similar level of passion for what they do is essential to the success of my existence as a DJ & MC. When you work with people who are at the top of their game, it makes you want to do better.

Since my move into the Chicago market, I've kept a stack of business cards on my desk of wedding & private event vendors I've met that I had great conversations with. Ones that I'd like to grow with and get to know better. This event that I hosted was a curated group of just that.

I am beyond grateful for my buddy Craig who captain's this beautiful yacht, Jake who is an incredible 1st mate and friend, and my wife who is just awesome at making sure everyone is comfortable.

This is only the beginning and I'm very much looking forward to making my mark in one of the biggest private event markets in the world with some of the most creative and driven vendors I've ever met!

Massive thanks to Frank from Lin Brothers Studio for capturing the essence of the night on camera!

I wish my high school dances were this wild!

For those of you who either work school dances or have a kid in high school, you know how massive of a hit FEIN is. It was probably the most requested song of the night. Party in the U.S.A was another crowd pleaser, but oddly enough Taylor Swift didn't seem to make as much of an impact on these students as I would have thought. MC Lo is a total pro at high school dances and knew what it took to elevate this experience. Production-wise, whoa...🤯

✨ There’s nothing quite like the anticipation of the hora! Watching the energy build as the crowd gathers, the cheers start to rise, and then... that moment when people are getting lifted 10 feet in the air! The joy, laughter, and pure celebration that fills the room is absolutely unmatched. Moments like these remind me why I love what I do — creating unforgettable memories for couples and their guests.

I'm here to help elevate your experience so if that means taking a special request so that Granny can show off a dance routine she's been secretly practicing, then there's no doubt I'm playing that song for her! 💃

When you send me your playlist, which I suggest is 15 of your absolute must plays and 15 of your play-if-possible, I'll take that list and build off of it throughout the night. I never show up with a premade setlist because you and I never know what the vibe is calling for.

In this case, the couple requested "Nanana" by Peggy Lou and I knew "Where You Are" would go perfectly with their request. It was about a 30 minute house set and then out of nowhere, it was time to play some b***y music 😎

Because there are so many genre shifts throughout a wedding reception, tricks like this are necessary to keep the energy in the room feeling right.

Still The One by Orleans was on the couple's must play list and since I was doing a high energy Motown set at the time, I knew this would be a great time to transition into one of their songs. Another one of their requests was something by Steely Dan so that would come after and then off to a 70-80s set we go!

It was at this moment I was getting ready to mix out of Low by Flo Rida and bring in some ska music. Concentration was at an all-time high. My BPM was at 126 and I needed to transition into 103. Crazy jump, I know. I set the pitch fader to +50 and bumped it down hard to 103 right at the end of the chorus of Low to let the people know something was about to happen. People stopped for a split second wondering what's going on and then 💥 I drop Sell Out by Reel Big Fish on the 1. The crowd went wild and a whole new energy shift began. The smile of satisfaction enters the room.

This is DJ talk for, "purposeful transitions make for memorable moments"

In our initial video chat, you'll hear me explain this musical experience I like to create, where I'll play through all the genres you and your guests have requested in a way that's fun and exciting. I'm not like what you hear on the radio, fading out a song then fading a new one in. I'm constantly blending and remixing songs on the fly to create something that is truly unique and memorable for you and your favorite people 😁
