We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Chris Gage this morning. Chris graced the Kerrville Folk Festival stage countless times alongside his partner in music and in life, Christine Albert.

A master musician who could bring any instrument to life, Chris was not only an extraordinary talent but also a gentle, kind soul. His music and his spirit touched our community in immeasurable ways.

Our hearts are with Christine and with all who were fortunate enough to know and love him. May his music and memory continue to resonate in the hearts of our Kerrville family.

🍴 Did somebody say Kerrville FORK Festival? 👀

Word on the street is we might be branching out into the culinary arts… so get your fork in hand, napkin at the ready, and tune in to Y100 tomorrow morning, where our Executive Director Deb Rouse will join Erik & Jenny to set the record straight (or maybe just stir the pot 😉).

📻 Listen between 6am–10am (Deb is scheduled to call in a little after 7:00, but they’ll replay it later in the show) to get the scoop on our newest “foodie festival.”

Forks up, y’all! Let’s eat! 🍽️

🌈 After a storm comes the rainbow — and after the floods, our community keeps showing up for each other. Here’s a photo of this epic double rainbow taken after yesterday’s big deluge from the top of Chapel Hill to let you know that we’ve added more events to our Flood Relief Benefit Concert listings! 🎶

✨ Tomorrow night in Corpus Christi — Noel McKay and more, hosted by the Corpus Christi Songwriters Festival.

✨ This Saturday in Driftwood — Lonesome Heroes and Lost Patterns at Vista Brewing.

Check out the full list of upcoming benefit shows on our website.

Every ticket, every note, and every gathering brings us closer to rebuilding together. 💚

🌟 Tonight’s the night! 🌟

The Song in the Storm benefit concert is lighting up the Paramount Theatre for an incredible sold-out show with Lyle Lovett, Michael Martin Murphey, and Jimmie Vaughan — all coming together to support flood relief in Kerr County. 💚

We’re deeply grateful for the outpouring of support for our community. And here’s a fun fact for longtime Kerrville Folk Festival fans — Michael Martin Murphey played at the very first Kerrville Folk Festival in 1972 and again in 1973!

Tonight, we celebrate music, history, and the strength of the Texas Hill Country. 🎶

💚 Hill Country Strong isn’t just a saying — it’s a way to show up, give back, and stand together.

We’re proud to debut a limited edition Kerrville Folk Festival t-shirt featuring a new spin on our classic logo, created especially for flood relief. These shirts are available only at our upcoming benefit concerts, and 100% of proceeds will go directly to support those affected by the devastating July 4th flood in Kerr County.

🙏 Huge thanks to Screen Printing for donating the shirts and printing services, making it possible for every dollar raised to go to our neighbors in need. Please do us a favor and follow their page as a thank you for their support and generosity!

We’re encouraging folks to attend these events in person, as the shirts will only be available on-site at these four upcoming benefits. If we have any left after the final event, we’ll be sure to let you know where you can find one!

Here’s where you can get yours:

🗓 Saturday, Aug 9 – Sam’s Burger Joint, San Antonio (11am–4pm)

🗓 Tuesday, Aug 12 – “Song in the Storm” at Paramount Theatre, Austin

🗓 Saturday, Aug 16 – Radio Coffee & Beer, South Austin (presented by Old Friends Reunion)

🗓 Monday, Aug 18 – “Together For Texas” at The Tobin Center, San Antonio

💪Show up, grab a shirt, and help us support flood relief efforts in Kerr County. Together, we are Hill Country Strong.
