Found a lifer today. Fox sparrow is a new one for me. It was at least the first time that I have seen and identified one anyhow. I am not great at identifying sparrows but when I saw this one poking around deep within the brush with some white throated sparrows I knew this one was a little different. It didn't give me a whole lot of time to look at it but I had long enough to grab a couple quick shots.

Ella wanted me to do some senior photos... but wanted them taken at OTHERWORLD in Columbus. I had never been there before but I knew what it was so I was definitely a little nervous about doing senior photos down there. Otherworld is an awesome place to visit and I recommend checking it out, however it's a photographers nightmare. It is dark, has lots of different colored lights and you are not allowed to use any type of flash. BUUUT with that being said we were still able to capture some pretty awesome shots! This is the first one for a sneak peak.

Ruddy Turnstone

I had the opportunity to photograph this Ruddy Turnstone down on the beach of Dauphin Island, Alabama while I was on vacation last week.

Young turnstones have to learn to fly quickly. They take flight when they are around 19 days old and fly thousands of miles to the nonbreeding grounds 2 days later. To make it even more challenging the parents have already left by then leaving the young to migrate on their own.
