After much reflection, we have made the difficult decision to close our Kennebunk shop after just one year of operation. Although our time here has been brief, we are incredibly grateful for the warm welcome and support we have received from the local community.

Our Saltwater Farm location will remain open, and we will continue to cater and host events. There are many new ideas on the horizon for the spring and summer months ahead.

Cloudy with a Chance of Pizza: When is the next snow storm?

We stay dry for the last weekend of February and temps begin to climb above freezing for the first time in a month. It gets even milder to start next week with 40s becoming widespread over Maine. Then weak pieces of energy move down the weather highway by midweek with a wintry mix of precipitation. By the following weekend a strong storm signal emerges as we get into the beginning of March with snow returning to the forecast.

It's another windy day as the atmosphere works to balance itself with a strong storm in eastern Canada and high pressure moving in from the west. The next storm on the weather highway moves through the Mid Atlantic and curves up the Eastern Seaboard by late-week. The best opportunity for snow will be for Cape Cod and not Maine. Then we warm up this weekend in the Pine Tree State with above freezing temps for the first time in a long time. The next opportunity for significant precipitation is now until late next week in Maine.

Cloudy with a Chance of Pizza: Storm Tracker Sunday

I'm tracking heavy snow changing over to sleet (ice pellets), freezing rain and rain (southern coast) today. It will depend where you are to see how big of an impact the storm will be, but all of Maine will get snow to start today. Then the warm nose of air moves into the atmosphere above us and changes the precipitation over to sleet and freezing rain. Only the southern coast has an opportunity to briefly change to plain rain at the end of the storm this afternoon. The big impact will come from more than 1 foot of snow from the Katahdin region to points north and the more than 1 inch of ice pellets accumulating Down East and inland. Freezing rain is a major concern with an opportunity to have ice accretion up to a half inch along the coastline. The storm ends tonight outside of the northern mountains, but the wind picks up and will cause power outages where freezing rain is on branches. We get very windy and cold tomorrow into midweek before a big warm up by the weekend.

Latest details on the ice forecast for major winter storm this weekend. A warm nose of air will move over Maine on the weather highway and change the snowflakes to ice pellets and freezing rain during the day Sunday. Significant icing will cause travel issues and power outages, especially Down East into Sunday night.
