St Patrick’s Day is more than just pinching people for not wearing green!

Today we honor a man who turned a life of hardship into a mission of hope. St. Patrick was just a teenager when he was captured and taken to Ireland as a slave. During those six lonely years as a shepherd, he found a deep, unshakable faith that eventually led him to escape, only to return years later with the message of the Gospel.

He transformed an entire nation by teaching with simple symbols like the shamrock to explain complex truths. His legacy is captured in his famous "Breastplate" prayer, a traditional Irish blessing, a reminder that we are never alone.

"Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise."

May your day be filled with the same strength and peace that guided Patrick centuries ago.

Our family returned home to Nikiski after years of military life with a simple goal: to bloom where we were planted. In 2013, we planted our first peony roots and began the farming adventure that became Cook Inlet Gardens.

Over the years, Cook Inlet Gardens grew from a peony farm into a trusted name for beautiful flowers, serving our community through local flower delivery, as well as flower exports and imports. Along the way, our vision continued to grow, always centered on thoughtful peony farming with a future of food production.

As our farm evolves, we’re making a natural shift. Kenai Flowers is now our dedicated flower delivery business, offering the same great service and high-quality flowers you’ve come to expect from Cook Inlet Gardens, just under a name that reflects our focus on convenient, local delivery.

Meanwhile, Cook Inlet Gardens will return its full attention to what started it all: growing produce and flowers right here on our farm.

You’ll still see the same faces, the same commitment to quality, and the same care in every delivery. This change simply allows each part of our business to grow with intention.

At the Nikiski Senior Center Craft Fair I bought a gift for someone, but I kinda want to keep it! I think that means it’s a good one.
Be sure to go check it out tomorrow 10am-5pm.
