Seeking actors to perform a new Fright Fest stunt show, “The Broken Sigil” at Six Flags Over Texas for the 2025 Halloween season.

WHEN: Thursday, July 31, 2025

AUDITION INFO: Actors must be 18 years of age or older. This is a call for submissions. Please submit headshot/resume through our online submission form. If we would like to invite you to the audition, you will receive a detailed email with instructions.

REHEARSALS (UNPAID): Select dates between Sept 2-5, 8-11

PERFORMANCE DATES: Select Thursdays, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from Sept 12-Nov 2. Multiple actors will be cast to cover any fellow actor absences or conflicts. All performances are at night between 5:30pm-11pm.

PAY: $125/day

SYNOPSIS
This Wild West is full of dangerous evil spirits bent on destroying mankind. Maudine Hollow, the overlord witch of all magic, has tasked two of her henchmen warlocks to send these spirits back to the abyss from which they came. When the spirits prove too strong, a broken sigil releases the monsters from their spellbound chains. An epic battle ensues.

CHARACTERS
All actors will be expected to show movement and stage combat capabilities.

Hexslinger (Male) – He is a wizened, disgruntled warlock who prefers life as a loner. Word of his legendary powers and fighting prowess has spread far and wide.

Riley (Male or Female) – S/He is enthusiastic, naïve, and new to magic. Although s/he prefers to let people assume s/he is incapable, s/he is fast on her/his feet and a very good witch/warlock.

Monsters – Looking for performers with stage combat, gymnastic, martial arts, and/or stunt experience. Non-speaking roles.

Voted “Best Entertainment in Texas” by Texas Meetings + Events Magazine and Reader’s Choice “Best Theater Troupe 2023” by Fort Worth Weekly, the Lone Star Murder Mystery Players are an award-winning comedy murder mystery troupe with a year-round home at the Texas Star Dinner Theater located in downtown Grapevine. We are looking for talented actors for our summer show at Billy Bob’s Texas 81 Club in the Fort Worth Stockyards!

WHEN: Thursday, May 1, 2025

REHEARSALS: There will be up to nine unpaid rehearsals between May 19-June 6.

PERFORMANCE DATES: Every Saturday night from June 7th – August 30th. Each actor is allowed up to two nights off with prior approval from the Casting Director.

PAY: $100 per show + Tips

SYNOPSIS:
Attorney Dewey Cheatumgood, a dubious dealer of bogus railroad bonds, has been killed and there’s no shortage of suspects. On any given day that’d be enough to keep Marshal Jim Courtright busy, but word is a notorious bounty hunter named Dude is coming to town and now everyone’s on edge.

Did Calvin, the shell-shocked military Captain cause another casualty? Could the fast-talking salesman Edward Ponzee have closed a final deal with the deceased? Might Maggie Magpie, a former magician’s assistant, mysteriously make another man disappear? Or did Dude lay the lawyer low for another bounty? Watch as the Marshal tries to keep the peace and solve this crime but hold on tight ‘cause this wild bunch is bound to run right off the rails.

CHARACTERS: (Some characters are pre-cast.)

Captain Cavalry Cal (Male, Any Age) – It takes precise military tactics and stamina to survive battle...all of which Calvin is lacking. Is Cavalry Cal a courageous commandant or a cowardly cadet? Did the dirty lawyer breach Cal’s top-secret mission? Does this shell-shocked war hero have what it takes to do Dewey in? You'll need to fall in and march along as Cal's comrade to know for sure.

Dude (Female, Age Range: 20s-40s) - The single most notorious bounty hunter in the west, Dude always brings criminals to justice. The problem is Dude's "justice" is lighting fast and comes out of the end of a six gun. Dude is aiming to derail this town to find fugitives and depart with a bountiful reward. Was Dewey in the line of fire or instructing the aim? The difference could be a deadly slap in the face!
