Bubbles & Cannons! Let me explain…
-
So, the day we met with this family at these beautiful gardens, there was also a historical reenactment taking place in the field close by. Complete with the firing of a civil war era cannon! 💥
-
Thankfully they wrapped up the demonstration before we started. 😂 Might have been a challenge to make tender family moments with not-so-distant explosions.
-
And bubbles? Well, they brought this awesome little bubble machine for the kids to chase, and that made for some beautiful play pictures and portraits!

Fall is almost here… but it’s been a lovely summer indeed. ☀️

Changing up the start time in favor of the sunset light opened up a beautiful variety of dreamy and golden-lit scenes.

Gardens and greens are always lovely, but there’s a beautiful in the textures and shapes of a vintage mansion, for sure.

Some say that wedding photography is the most challenging form of the art:
You mix portrait, event, formal, journalistic, and macro disciplines all into one fast-moving day, all while shifting between natural day light, indoor ambient, flash, afternoon and evening sunset light. ☀️💡🪟☁️🌅

But the challenge (when met with experience and energy) can also mean a great variety of light and scenes through the day, and a beautiful collection of album-worthy favorites!

☃️What are you looking forward to this winter?
That could be a trickier question to answer than usual, since this year has been rather... um, difficult.
But keeping positive and looking forward is essential to keeping us going. So lets share some winter ideas!
As for me, I’m hoping to have better, longer, and more meaningful conversations (even virtually!) while enjoying some comforting hot drinks.

Another positive activity is some good ol’ fashioned self-care: Aromatherapy, a plush blanket, and perhaps a bit of shea butter from our friend Heidi’s (pictured) new hand-made organics line:
