The raccoon has a working theory. Every metal show has a point where the music stops being heard and starts being inhabited. Sometimes the evidence is in the crowd. Sometimes it’s in the pit.

Sometimes, It’s in the hair.

This is guitarist, Jessie Nichols from Love Like War delivered multiple submissions for the Official Slightly Feral Hair Flip Award at Stage Dive KC at Warehouse On Broadway, and the photographic evidence speaks for itself. Gravity lost. Momentum won. Every strand became part of the performance.

Hair flips aren’t decoration. They’re a cultural marker. A visible signal that the body has stopped negotiating with the music and started translating it.

The guitar carried the riffs.
The hair carried the proof.
