Chef Kansas City is proud to support Jazzoo year after year! This marks our 7th year being part of this incredible fundraiser, and it’s one of our favorite events on the calendar.
Not only does Jazzoo at the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium raise vital funds for the animals—this year’s fundraiser helped support the new giraffe exhibit—but it also gives us the opportunity to put a restaurant face on our catering company and serve the public directly.

As a from-scratch catering company with a commercial kitchen, most of our work happens behind the scenes at private events. Events like Jazzoo give us a chance to connect with the community while supporting a great cause.

Ahh 2016.

A year into me starting Chef Kansas City.
Started as a private chef service and grew into bigger events. Built out a Fight Club style kitchen in my kitchen/ garage. Got all my friends and restaurant peeps to help out. Worked from morning until night for countless weeks. Waking up, shopping, prepping, cooking, emailing clients, running deliveries, cooking for events. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Bootstrapping a business 101.

Was able to move the business into the Adam’s Mark old kitchen. Countless hours of cleaning, planning, menu writing, website building, learning SEO, cooking, learning, adapting.

Started what became our Meal Prep Service. Delivering scratch made meals all over KC every week. Ended up with over 90 orders a week before we shut it down about 2 years ago. Concentrating specifically on Office Catering and Special Events.

#2016 may have been one of the hardest points in my life but I kept my head down and kept working.

Fast forward : moved into a fully licensed kitchen. Slowly bought commercial kitchen equipment and now we are rocking out of the Loretto in midtown KC.

Cheers to 10 years and 10 more. Big thanks to everyone that’s helped me along the way. Couldn’t have done it without you.
