One final post on my experience working on the set of Ted Lasso, Season 4/Episode 1 when it was filmed in KC. Episode 10, the final episode of Season 4, is out now! No spoilers, but I love how they tied certain things back together from episode 1 all the way at the end of episode 10! Episode 9 was such an emotional roller coaster. The final two minutes of that episode were incredible, pulling at your heartstrings from both ends and setting up the finale. So well done!

I don’t have much to add from my time with the crew that I haven’t said in previous posts, but it was such a pleasure to work with that crew and see firsthand how the magic was made. I have not posted these anywhere until now, but I saved the scripts given to me from each day on the set and have a special “Ted Lasso” folder as a keepsake!

Hope you all enjoyed Season 4 and if you haven’t seen it yet, definitely check it out!

Hopefully the Chiefs can get a win! This would just be a bonus. 💰🤓

I skipped posting last week, sorry for the suspenseful finale to posting about my time on set filming for Ted Lasso! Episodes 8 and 9 have aired since my last post and next week is Episode 10, the Season 4 Finale! Episode 9 was a rollercoaster of emotions for sure. I’m sure the finale will be just as excellent. Now, for my final day of filming.

Day 7 On Set For Ted Lasso Season 4, Episode 1 in Kansas City.

Today we were at the American History of Jazz Museum and the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum for today’s shoot. It was a FULL Higgins day! Jeremy Swift (who plays Higgins) is an actual jazz musician so they wrote this part of the episode in for him specifically for sure. Spoilers ahead: when he shows up to go to the Jazz museum it is closed so he has to go across the room to the NLBM!

He toured the facility and learned so much about the history of the Negro Leagues and more. It was so uniquely Kansas City and fun to follow him around through the scene and feel the emotion of the scene… and the humor as well!

At the end of the day they did a special send off for him since it was his last day on set. Before he took off he walked over to me and said “Thank you, Markus, for all your hard work this week!” so that was nice and will be a fun memory. Can’t wait to see how this episode turns out!

Another side note: our “green room” area was actually in the Blue Room (a jazz club connected to the museum). I’ll post the scene from this day in the comments!

You guys have been asking for it… after Producer Mark hit a $10 to win $600 last week, here is this weekend’s Chiefs parlay! Everything in this week’s parlay hit during the Colts game last week. Can he make it back-to-back big wins? 👀

I’m a day late! Season 4, Episode 7 of Ted Lasso is out now! Probably my favorite episode (other than episode 1, of course) of the new season. Here is the recap of my 6th day of filming Season 4, Episode 1 in KC last summer!

Day 6 recap:

Shooting scenes from Ted Lasso’s son’s soccer game at Swope Soccer Park and it was the hottest day of the week!! We kept moving back and forth between cooling tent and the stands all day. Started at 7:00 am and got done at 6:00 pm!

It’s so interesting how the crew sets up the lighting, blocking the sun, etc throughout the entirety of the process. Former Sporting KC, USMNT member and local legend Matt Besler is making a cameo as assistant coach for Ted’s son’s team which is fun! He was also directing the kids in the scene how to run around the field so Besler may get a producer credit in this one! It was also fun seeing names on the back of the youth soccer jerseys like Moustakas, Hosmer, Brett, McRae, Quisenberry and more as an ode to a few generations of Royals players. Not sure if that will be noticeable in the episode, but I certainly noticed it!

It was Hannah (Rebecca) and Juno’s (Keely) last day of filming in KC and Hannah gave a nice speech tot the cast and crew before they started walking toward their get away vehicles, thanking all of us Kansas citians for making them feel welcome all week. And then we were able to pull them aside they took photos with each of us stand ins and gave us hugs on their way out. Definitely a special moment!

We were the only ones they took pictures with so that was really fun. Of course we can’t share these until after the series comes out. I have another day of filming with Higgins tomorrow but I didn’t want to ask for a picture when it was just going to be me and him there. 😂 Should be a fun day at an amazing place and maybe even, dare I say, a hidden gem in Kansas City.

Until next time… enjoy these photos!

Since Ted Lasso Season 4, Episode 6 has dropped… here is my weekly update from my time on the set last summer!

Ted Lasso, Season 4/Episode 1 filming… July 24th, 2026, Day 5 recap:

Filming on the plaza. My character, Higgins, was not in these scenes today but they asked if I would be the stand in for their security guard! We set up outside the Charlie Hustle store on the plaza and did the first shots there by one of the fountains. Got there about 9:00 am and I was done by 2:30pm… so a shorter day of filming! That scene is probably only going to be about 30 seconds but it will be a good one showing off KC/Plaza.

Highlights:

My character’s name was Paul (probably won’t even be revealed other than in credits but still fun to know)!

Got a high five from Hannah Waddingham aka Rebecca!

New Charlie Hustle KC Current hats dropped today and I was the first to get one!

Ted Lasso Season 4, Episode 5 is out! So here is my weekly update… Day 4 of filming Ted Lasso Season 4, Episode 1 recap:

Arrived to an offsite location near Blue Springs, MO a little before 9:00 am and wrapped at 5:00 pm for a scene that will probably be about 30 seconds 😅

Highlights: Hugging Jason Sudeikis as we “arrived at Ted’s house” for the scene. The other actors were in a different house in AC while the rest of us stand ins rehearsed with Jason as he emerged from his house excitedly… jumping over a bush in the process. 🤣

Since it was such a hot day, Real Higgins was in the backseat of the car as I got the camera angles down for his shot of getting out of the front seat of the car. We discussed KC summers and trash pick up as they didn’t allow trash trucks to proceed down the road we filmed on today. 😅

It was interesting taking over multiple houses along this street for filming… a few of them being used as holding places for cast/crew/extras/stand ins to keep us cool. We had hydration and snack stations in the garage!

Of note: I shared a bathroom with Brendan Hunt who plays the character Beards on the show. It looks like he is a producer for this episode. We were having lunch at the church where we had to park our cars today off-site and just happened to pass by each other in the bathroom at the same time. 🥳😂

The NFL regular season hasn’t started yet but the city of Las Vegas seems to have already given up on the team by marking shirts off 50% 🤣🤣🤣
