All set up for Buddy Shaw - State Farm Agent community pancake breakfast with Chris Cakes FREE Pancakes!! There are board games for friends and family to enjoy today at Captain Cook's Treasure Chest from 9am-11pm. Come join us!

Had so much for designing these game themed centerpieces. So whimsical and fun. Also could not have asked for better weather!

Next event for us is Saturday May 9th from 9am-11am. Buddy Shaw State Farm here in Louisburg is hosting a community pancake breakfast and game day in the big event tent at Captain Cook’s Treasure Chest at 903 N. Broadway, Louisburg. Robin’s Emporium of Whimsy has been charged with delivering fun game themed centerpieces for the tables. Lots in the works! Come join us on May 9th, mark your calendars and have empty bellies for Chris Cakes pancakes!

Fun to make and fun to take! Robin made these origami bugs for the floral arrangements at the Wildwood Fundraiser and the patrons enjoyed snagging them to enjoy at home after the event ended. We love sharing our whimsy in big and small ways.

Lights, camera, action! Bugs are set and the big event is on! Good luck to Wildwood tonight in their fundraising goals. We hope the patrons, staff and volunteers have the best evening. I had fun making these show stopping critters.

I love that my first event work under Robin's Emporium of Whimsy has led me to discover and work with these amazing illustrations by Maria Sibylla Merian, who is considered by David Attenborough to be among the more significant contributors to the field of entomology. I've was able to acquire access to print some of her spectacular illustrations via the public domain due to their age. I've loved using them for the origami bugs and large insect silhouettes that will be used at the Wildwood Outdoor Education Center fundraiser next week. This youtube video is a great overview of Maria's life and features many of her insect illustration in the video. Maria's life was so unusual for the time especially as a woman. What an amazing role model, using both her live of entomology and her talent's as an artist to leave such a huge mark on the world of insect science.

You never know what you will learn when you let your creativity guide you.
