Boy scouts from several local troops are camping at this weekend. They're working to complete the merit badge. The Gold Prospectors Association - Matthews chapter sponsored the event. Club members are teaching portions of the merit badge requirements. Some are demonstrating mining equipment: gold panning, sluice boxes and dredges. The boys have had great questions and show enthusiasm for the hobby.
