Today was really special.

I invited a mix of people to this floral workshop we were going to capture marketing video from. Friends, past clients, chamber members, people from my networking group, and some of the original supporters of Do Something Co.

I didn’t expect how much it would mean to look around the room and realize it was filled with people who showed up simply because they wanted to support me and this business.

And then I got to watch my favorite thing happen!

People walked in from busy days, meetings, and incomplete to do lists. They sat down, created something beautiful, connected with people they didn’t know, and left a little lighter than they arrived.

It’s such a gift to create spaces where people can feel capable, creative, connected, and proud of themselves.

Thank you to everyone who spent part of your day with us today. It meant more than you know. May the ripple effects of creativity bless you all weekend long.

Hello friends, supporters, customers, clients; and maybe people who have been following along quietly for a while.

I have a little favor to ask.

Next Friday, we’re hosting a Floral Design Workshop in downtown Kalamazoo, but this one is a little special.

We’re bringing in our friend Thomas to capture video content so we can create updated marketing materials for Do Something Co. as we continue growing our corporate and private events.

This investment is a big one for us, time, energy, and finances, but it feels like an important step in helping us better tell the story of what we do and why it matters.

And when I pictured this workshop, I really want a room filled with people who believe in me and this business. People who have supported this business over the years, and people who have always been curious and want to finally experience an event.

So we decided to offer this workshop at cost ($50 instead of our usual $85) as a thank you for helping us capture and share this next season.

We’ll have florals, lunch hour snacks + drinks, and an hour to pause, create something beautiful, connect, and maybe shift the mood of your whole day.

If you’re free next Friday, I would absolutely love to have you there.

And selfishly I think it would be really special to look back at these videos someday and know they were filled with people who helped build this business.

I’ve been working really hard to create opportunities to share something bigger than just a craft.

Yes, we are a creative events company, but the heart of this business has always been about bringing people together and helping people experience the power of creativity and connection. Creating space for joy, connection, reflection, and those purposeful pauses that help you feel more like yourself.

It’s about slowing down long enough to ask yourself how you want to feel, and then taking intentional steps toward building more of that into your life.

There has been a lot of purposeful behind the scenes work to shift this business from being seen as just craft workshops to being recognized as something deeper, an opportunity for growth, connection, and meaningful change. To be seen not just as someone who hosts workshops, but as a speaker, educator, and facilitator who helps people understand why creativity matters and how it impacts the way we live, work, and lead.

It’s been a slow grind, and sometimes those shifts feel invisible, but I’m taking a moment to recognize that progress and feel proud of the intentional work it’s taken to shape this business into what I know it can be. We’re doing it!

We’ll absolutely still do the wreath workshops and patch bars, but the bigger purpose is helping people reconnect with themselves and each other through creativity.

Three years ago Cooper was born! And just one month after I left my full-time job to take my business full-time, I found out I was pregnant with him.

I wanted a third baby, but the timing felt terrifying.

So much of the pressure we carry is self-created. The timelines, the expectations, the fear of what people might think, it can be so, so loud. But what matters most is how you want to feel.

Ive always wanted to feel purposeful, to feel fulfilled. I wanted to create something meaningful while raising my kids and showing them that there are no rules.

You can change your mind. You can take the unexpected path. You can go one way and decide to turn around completely. The pressure you feel might not be fear, it might be drive. It might be intuition asking you to trust yourself.

These last three years have transformed me, as a mom, a business owner, a partner, a daughter, and a person.

And this little boy turning three feels like such a marker of that 🥹

I’m really proud of what we’ve built. I’m really proud that I kept going. And I’m really proud of all the moms out there doing both, the seen work and the unseen work, the dreaming and the doing.

Moms are incredible!

Happy birthday to Cooper. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms. And to the moms waiting, grieving and yearning, I see you too.

The infamous geodesic dome at just opened back up for our June Creative Connections Retreat!

Secrets out!

Our next Creative Crawl is heading to Saugatuck, Michigan!!

We’re kicking things off with a quintessential Saugatuck experience—the dunes—with a private ride at to start the day.

From there, you can explore some local gems with a coffee stop at and you can even order some lunch nearby from Then we’ll head to farm (right around peak bloom 🌿) where we’ll experience a sound bath meditation with surrounded by the fields.

This is actually how this business started.

From a moment where I knew something needed to shift, and I decided to do something about it.

Throughout my adult life, I’ve made a lot of hard decisions. I haven’t always done it perfectly, but I’ve learned that there is a way to move from feeling stuck or unsure into something that feels aligned, clear, and forward moving.

That’s what this is built on.

Do Something Co. has always been about creating spaces for people to step out of their day to day, try something new, connect, and feel good.

This is just a deeper version of that. Not just one night. Not just one activity. A space to actually think about your life, where you’re going, and what you want, and then have the support and accountability to do something about it.

Time is the most valuable thing we have. And if you don’t give yourself the space to even think about what you want, you’re not being intentional with how you spend it.

That’s what this is.
