As you can tell from my posting, I am a man of a few words..... I decided to change that today
Halloween of 1977 I met my future bride. When I first saw her, my mind said "I am gonna marry her". After a merry chase of four months, she caught me. On to the wedding...... As with all weddings there were minor quirks, but we made through it.
I remember standing there with our minister just quaking with nervousness. I watched my soon to be father in law escorting my bride to the altar to present to me. I remember thinking that she was such a wonderful gift from God just for me. She was beautiful then, and she is beautiful now. And there is no doubt that she is still madly in love with me as I am in love with her after 37 years of marriage. But enough of that...... To my future brides and grooms, both my bride and I went through the same doubts, nervousness, and fear with our wedding, and we survived.
What I am going to say, is for you to relax, and remember others have gone through what you are going through..... And we survived. While at the wedding, relax, breath, and have confidence in your minister.... no matter who he or she may be. Your minister will not let you stumble or fall. I tell all of my brides and grooms, the most important things to remember are 1. breath 2. do not lock your knees, cause that will make you pass out over time 3. have fun 4. Speak where people can hear you, and with confidence.... After all, you are confident you are going to marry the love of your life.
If you adhere to these rules, you will have a successful wedding. By the way, it only hurts for a few moments, then you will be off with your new spouse!
