When Polina and TJ told us they were visiting from Texas, I couldn’t help but remember how I longed for my plans in Texas. The only time I ever planned a trip to Texas was to go to the famous State Fair—I had several days mapped out and was so excited to try all that legendary fair food!

…Except I never actually made it to the fair! Back in 2022, I got held up in Oklahoma for days during the sale of my Jeep (whom I lovingly named Denise, before shipping her home to the Big Island). So, hearing about Texas from Polina and TJ felt like a full-circle moment!

Polina is new to Texas, while TJ has lived there his whole life. As they look ahead to their next chapter as husband and wife, they’re keeping their hearts open to wherever life takes them next. But for this special evening, home was right here with us on the Big Island.

We had such a wonderful time with these two during their sunset wedding at Kukiʻo Beach. Even with a high tide rolling in, we found a cozy, intimate spot on the shoreline for them to share their vows under a truly remarkable evening sky.

The best part of the high tide was that Polina was able to go for a dip after the ceremony!

Congratulations, Polina & TJ! Thank you for letting our team be a part of your unforgettable sunset session.

Kelli and Kyle wanted a simple, intimate wedding right in town. They chose Holualoa Beach, and the tide was perfect for their morning vows witnessed only by their three children.

For many couples, this tiny, rustic beach in the heart of Kona isn't an option. High tides, big surf, or a combo of both often make it inaccessible. But on this lovely May morning, conditions aligned for them to say “I do” alongside the Kona Wedding Officiant® team.

I lived in Hawaii for ten years before I even knew this hidden gem existed—and now it’s one of my absolute favorite spots! Even though it’s right in town, it feels worlds away. Requiring a careful walk over a natural jetty, it stays quiet and private purely due to the complexity of the location.

For couples who are nimble on their feet and want something close to their rental that feels completely secluded, it doesn't get better than this.

Karina and Sahar brought so much joy all the way from Florida to the shores of the Big Island for their morning wedding at Kukio Beach. Their day began with a wonderful experience when our florist arrived with two distinct styles of handmade haku leis, which allowed the brides to choose the perfect matching crowns for their ceremony. We met the couple in the parking lot to deliver the flowers and walked down to the shoreline together just as the day was beginning. The beach was remarkably quiet with only a few people around, which created a serene and deeply intimate setting for them to exchange vows. Having their mother and aunt standing by their sides added a beautiful warmth to the start of this exciting new chapter.

Rachel and Shawn tied the knot on a quiet June morning at Old Kona Airport Beach, with their children standing beside them. Adorned in fresh orchid leis, a maile lei for the groom, toes in the sand - some of our favorite ceremonies are the simple morning ones.

Alyssa and Drake got married on a bright Tuesday morning at Old Kona Airport Beach, with their families flying in to stand beside them. Ukulele on the sand, orchid leis, vows by the water, and a lot of shakas by the end of it. Mornings here are underrated for weddings — calm water, soft light, and the beach mostly to yourselves.

Congratulations to the newlyweds. It was a joy to marry you two!

It was an honor to officiate the marriage of Jacob and Scott, a wonderful couple defined by their warm hearts and kind spirits. They exchanged vows during an intimate morning ceremony at one of South Hawaii's breathtaking black sand beaches, surrounded by `ohana who traveled from across the United States to celebrate alongside them. The morning was perfectly filled with love and true Hawaiian aloha. Congratulations to the newlyweds, and thank you for trusting Kona Wedding Officiant® with your beautiful moments.

Some love stories don't need a big stage — just two people, a stretch of sand, and a Hawaiian sunset. Congratulations to Kristin and Wayne who eloped at Kuki`o Beach in Kailua-Kona and sealed their vows in the evening glow before heading off to celebrate over dinner. Cheers to your next chapter! 🥂
