Friends of the Aloha Shirt Festival have already provided 80 copies of the ALOHA: What it Means to Me Workbook to kindergarteners in Kailua-Kona.

Each student who received a workbook participated in art classes presented by a recognized master artist and then entered a design an Aloha Shirt coloring contest that was displayed at the Aloha Shirt Festival and each entrant received a custom book-marker for their entry.

We want to grow that effort: Our 2024-25 goal is to give a copy to every kindergartener on Hawai’i Island. And already two schools on Oahu have asked to participate!

Share your ALOHA—donate $10 to provide one workbook to a student and support our effort.

Your gift just keeps giving:

Proceeds also support additional educational programs through the nonprofit publisher, Aloha Movement Kaua’i.

"Real generosity is doing something nice for someone who you may not know or who may never find out".

So grateful for the Random Acts of Kindness from strangers who saw the post about the Aloha Shirt Quilt hand made by a friend and that was stolen from our mailbox en-route to the Aloha Shirt Festival silent auction.

Shortly after, we received a message from a stranger who said they felt so bad they decided to make a similar quilt and donate it to the event. We were humbled by this wonderful gift and the aloha shared.

Then another package was sent from someone who knew the original maker and had a similar quilt made years ago and had it hand delivered to the event.

And if that was not enough, the original maker set about making another quilt and brought it to the festival.

Can't tell you how blessed we are feeling from all this generosity and true sharing of aloha. So grateful to each of these people who spent their time to hand make these unique and wonderful treasurers!
