Making moves

From the Design Lab to walking for major designers — Tandon IDM MS grad Bhavitha Mandava has made history as the first Indian model to open a CHANEL show

Mandava opened Chanel's Métiers d’Art 2026 collection, which took place at the Bowery Station and was Matthieu Blazy's second collection for the French fashion house. Mandava came to Tandon to study Integrated Design & Media & Human Computer Interaction, graduating with a master's this past spring. During her time at Tandon, she was a part of the design lab as well as the UX club.
