As a continuation of our previous post, here are our top tips to personalize your wedding vows and have an “authentically you” wedding ceremony experience:1. Share personal anecdotes: Include stories or memories that are specific to your relationship, such as the moment you knew you wanted to spend the rest of your life together.�
2. Use inside jokes: Add humor to your vows by referencing inside jokes or funny moments that only the two of you understand.�
3. Express your hopes and dreams: Share your hopes and dreams for the future, and what you want to achieve together as a couple.�
4. Declare your love: Be open and honest about your feelings for your partner and how much they mean to you.�
5. Include religious or spiritual references: If religion or spirituality is an important part of your life, you can include references to your beliefs in your vows.�
6. Make promises: State specific promises that you are making to your partner on your wedding day, and what you plan to do to keep those promises in the future.�
Remember, the most important thing is to make the vows a true reflection of your relationship and your love for each other.

Writing your own wedding vows is a meaningful way to express your love and commitment to your partner on your wedding day. It allows you to customize the ceremony to reflect your unique relationship and to make the moment as intimate and personal as possible. Personal vows can also add a touch of sentimentality and individuality to your wedding, making it a more memorable and special experience for both you and your partner.

One of the most common posts I see in wedding planning groups is “We’ve made the decision to elope…now what?”

After helping countless couples though the planning process, here our our top tips (in order) to get your elopement planning started…

« Plan your dream elopement by having a date night/brainstorming session with your partner to envision loosely what you want your day to look and feel like
« Set a date + location
« Hire a photographer who fits your style and personality (your photographer can also help you pick a date and location if needed!)
« Book your accommodations, and activities.
« Invite your guests (if any)
« Finalize attire, purchase permits if necessary, and book other vendors (makeup, catering, etc.).
« Create a day-of timeline with your photographer's help
« Get a marriage certificate
« Write your vows
« Enjoy your elopement day!!

Remember, at it’s core this day is about the two of you taking this next step together in your relationship, celebrating your connection and love. Just relax, have fun, and love on each other and it’s sure to be an incredible day no matter what!

One of the most common posts I see in wedding planning groups is “We’ve made the decision to elope…now what?”

Couples make the beautiful decision to embrace a different path, celebrating their love in the intimate and adventurous way that only an elopement can do, but then they have no idea where to start with planning. There are countless resources about how to plan a wedding, and chances are you know plenty of people who have planned their own wedding that you can always ask. But when it comes to planning an elopement, there are SO MANY options, and so few planning resources, that it can be confusing on where to begin and what steps to take throughout the planning process.

That’s why when a couple books with us, the very first thing we do is send them our elopement planning guide with over 100 pages of tips, tricks, and resources to help them craft their dream day, and work with them closely to help answer questions and finalize details.

Hey there! It seems like we’ve gained a lot of new followers lately, so now might be a good time to do a little re-introduction & give you all a peek into the lives of the people behind the cameras at Kindred + Co.

We are Olivia + Bryan. We’ve been married for almost 5 years, and originally come from Michigan. We’ve lived in 4 different states in the time we have been together, and now call Salt Lake City home, which is the IDEAL location for us to pursue our passions of hiking, horseback riding, snowboarding, camping & rock climbing.

We’ve also traveled extensively and love to visit new destinations. Our work as adventure elopement photographers always keeps us on the move and exploring new places! Some of our personal favorites have been Big Sur, Sedona, Jamaica, Key West, and Italy. Some places we are looking forward to visiting in the future are New Zealand, Iceland, Scotland, Peru, and northern Washington!

At home we have two pets, our cat Bristol and our dog Nova. When we aren’t working you can usually catch us cuddling with the animals at home while catching up on our favorite shows or reading, or exploring our little piece of Rockies (the Wasatch range) right outside our back door.

Finally, the most important thing you should know about us is that we are very passionate about our work. It definitely would not be a far stretch to say that I (Olivia) am a workaholic, but it’s hard not to be when you love what you do and find purpose in your work!
Our purpose is to make YOUR wedding dreams a reality. This means being there every step of the way during your elopement planning process...from timeline creation, location scouting, planning fun activities, recommending vendors, and beautifully capturing your day as it happens.

A year ago we were visiting friends in Utah dreaming about the possibility of living here one day, and now we are going on month 3 of living in Salt Lake. It's been a crazy year of planning, moving, traveling, shooting, and getting settled in a new place, but we are here and we've already had some amazing adventures and are looking forward to even more that are still to come!

If any of you are starting this holiday season with a new fiancé, this post is for you. 🌙⁣
When Bryan and I got engaged, right away we realized it felt like everyone had expectations about our wedding plans. Not gonna lie, it was overwhelming. So here’s me, screaming empowering truths from the mountaintops for you:⁣
💍 Enjoy this time of just being engaged. Until you feel fired up thinking about your actual wedding, don’t sweat it. This time is special & worthy of enjoying too.⁣
♥️ Keep your hearts at the center of it all, from day one. If you start to feel your hackles rising and stress building over any element, throw it out and stick to what sets your hearts on fire.⁣
🥾 Don’t let wedding planning define you. It wasn’t your sole hobby before, nor should it be now. Hike. Travel. Play your instrument. Continue to find your “why” in those areas, rather than defining yourself only by how “successfully” you plan your wedding. ⁣
😂 Be flexible and find humor in the BS. Some things just aren’t worth losing your mental wellbeing over, so either adapt or laugh ‘em off. The only important thing is that you’re married at the end of it all, so laugh off the nonsense.⁣
💕 Prioritize one another above all else. Don’t fall victim to the bickering, stressing, or resenting. Remember that you are one another’s most important partner and confidant through this season of life. Be gentle & considerate, and never let “wedding planning” cause you to waver in that.⁣
📚 Surround yourselves with professionals to do the heavy lifting, so that you don’t have to. If I could go back and enjoy my engagement rather than stressing over planning, I would. Hire that pro photographer you feel so at home with. Choose that vendor who ensures every last detail is taken care of. Team with the planner who brings your spirit peace. ⁣
🌹 Choose you + your partner’s joy, always. You can do this, and it’s going to be a beautiful adventure.

Off to Moab this weekend for some location scouting and gear testing! It's such a special place to us and we can't wait to get back to the desert.
