Is everything starting to look the same? Perhaps all that lurking on Pinterest, {ahem} Instagram and wedding magazines caused monotony and creative laziness. When a client brought me the idea of mixing rustic, gothic and ethereal for her reception, I jumped at the opportunity. This image tells the story of our ultimate design. Rich, black sequined lace set off with comfy buffalo check (which was custom-printed for us) and softly draped ivory voile table runners atop mahogany-stained wood tables. It all looks so easy when you see the photo, and perhaps that’s why many people just copy, but gosh, the opportunity to differentiate yourself. It’s just too appealing. 📸

In total we have approximately 300 feet of Garland draped, wrapped and hung in and around the lodge. This tiny section though, is my favorite. Right before the madness of decorating began, I took a short trip to Vail. The doors and windows of were simply adorned with sugar cones and lights. Natural and a bit nostalgic, I began my search for the rare 18-inch sugar pinecone. I came close to making a daytrip to the Colorado wholesale florist, and paying the extra $75 to check a second "bag," but couldn't commit to the cost and time. So, back in Oklahoma, white tipped some pinecones we gathered off the property grounds...and then I found them. In a white sack usually filled with grass seed. Big, beautiful and crusted in pine sap: California Coulter pinecones. Small victories are what life's all about. Mini celebrations about pinecones and an idea coming together. Zoom into the corners and center. You'll see the behemoths.

Germans get windowboxes. The British love flowers too, and in Scotland the climate is perfect for colorful outdoor plants. I was inspired by all three as I commissioned to build windowboxes for . I sought a traditional, yet somewhat enchanted-forest look for the outdoor decor. If you zoom in, check out the metal hanging braces holding up the box. Beautiful hand-forged detail with like rings. It's Christmas at and we're just getting started. 📷

Remember, we want your show sheep! Big, small, ugly, cute, black, white, speckled, old and young! The Tulsa State Fair starts tomorrow. Spread the word. Your sheepies can live their lives in a large pasture with Burrito the B***o. Their most stressful day is Haircut Day, but we give them lots of treats and hugs before and after. (This is Harold, BEFORE his haircut - he's pretty ratty!) ...so, if you run into someone at the fair who plans on selling their sheep after showing, please tell them about us!

Do you know anyone showing sheep at the Tulsa State Fair? Instead of the stockyards, bring them to us! We'll take any breed ewe or wether. Let your sweet little sheepies live out their days with !
