Want a PACKED dance floor at your wedding? Here’s how to make it happen every time👇✨
1. IT NEEDS TO BE DARK 🌙
Dim the lights and don’t start the party before the sun sets. Nobody wants to drop it low in broad daylight 😅 Summer weddings may need a later timeline if dancing is the priority. Check sunset time when planning!
2. USE THE GIMMICKS 🎉
Glow sticks, sunglasses, foam fingers, confetti poppers, conga lines, Cha Cha Slide… cheesy? Maybe. Effective? Absolutely.
3. MAKE THE DANCE FLOOR OBVIOUS 💃
Put it front and center—not hidden off to the side. Add uplighting or a monogram to make it pop, and keep the bar nearby so guests naturally gather there.
4. HIRE A KILLER DJ OR BAND 🎶
This is their job for a reason. Great DJs know how to read the room, keep momentum going, and turn a crowd into a party.
5. USE THE PHOTO METHOD 📸
Call everyone to the dance floor for a giant group photo. Once everyone’s there… snap the pic, drop the beat, dim the lights. Instant dance floor magic.
6. OFFER WATER, FOOD + DRINKS 🍔🥤
People dance longer when they’re fueled. Keep water accessible, serve a late-night snack, and keep the bar flowing if it fits your vibe.
