Good morning everyone!
Well in my UPCOMMING COOKBOOK...
"Creole Love : Cooking with Papa Gumbeaux"
There are many time tested recipies for many traditional Creole recipies I'm sure you will enjoy making for your family. But there is so much more to this book...
It's a story for Creole Cooking and Creole life! Pictures of where we live and come from...the bayous and wetlands which formed our culinary traditions.
Places that are disappearing rapidly like the saltwater marshes and inland waterways where our seafood species grow and live.
These are personal photos I have taken over the years as I have traveled and enjoyed the beautiful landscapes of the coast and waterways of Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi.
It's something I believe you will enjoy in everyday. And as you cook and make the recipies in the book...there are pages for making these traditional recipies your own by writing down notes and changes to the recipie that are uniquely yours to be passed on to your families future cooks!

My new book will be out soon! It is in the final stages of creating the cover art. Content and been finalized.
The book isn't just a compilation of recipies...its my story as well and some history of our Creole Culture and traditional recipes. It also has a place for your story to intersect with it giving you blank pages to make each recipie uniquely yours for passing on these traditions to your family!
In the book are sections that are called "Papa Gumbeaux Talks".
These are stories, experiences and tips that I have shared with you from my family culinary traditions and life! It is a unique mix of facts, recipies, historical tide bits and family times.
I hope you buy one and make this book a success for my family and yours. It will be a great gift for the Holidays!

Cookbook Update!!!!!!

Well it's been a ride but we are almost there. Much goes into the production of the book. Approvals, conversations, content development and pics!
I have learned much and the next one will be a much smoother and seamless process!
Meeting with my Publisher to finalize the content, then approval of the cover back and front, they format and print!
It will be ready for the Holidays!
I believe you will love this story and the recipies! It is a very unique book!

Well it has been quite a month! Survived Covid Delta, and now dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Ida...
I thank God that my family and friends are safe and well as can be!
I hope you all are doing well as well!
My health is good, still smell and taste kinda out of wack. My energy level is coming back...so recovering! Fema seems absent from the city and DTR! People are struggling to find shelter and resources to survive in this aftermath...makes me sad.
The book is coming along though and in the final stages editing and being made ready to go to print!
Also started work on the second one...yesterday! So staying busy.

Will be heading back to working doing sheetrock, painting and home repairs. So if you need work, give me a message and I will get back to you. Booking jobs now to start work in 2 weeks.

Well the book is progressing nicely! Almost finished with the editing and photo selection. Unfortunately, the release date is going to be moved back just a little bit! I appreciate all the love and support! This book will be a unique and great gift for the holidays...
It isn't just a cookbook...its a story of my Creile Heritage, history of some of our classic and traditional foods and a look at many unique pictures of our land.....the Saltwater marshes is disappearing at an alarming rate due to fresh water intrusion because of all the cutting up and drilling of the marshlands. With this loss we will loose many beautiful varieties of wildlife and a way of life that has sustained my family and many peoples throughout the centuries.
So buy the book please and help to preserve this history by sharing a copy with others.

Book Update!

Well had the meeting with my publisher and the process is going well and we are ontrack for our August roll-out. The book will be on every book selling website...
As soon as it is available for ordering I will post it. I am so excited over this book and it will be a dream come true.
It is not your "ordinary" cookbook.....there are snipots of history, stories about my family and of course great Creole Recipies and cooking methods. It is very unique and I believe it will be a great read as well.
It's about our Creole Heritage and History and our great food!

Well we will be finalizing the manuscript to.go to "formatting" then to print today! I am so excited for this book. I can't believe it is finally finished and coming to fruition!
The date for it to be available is August 23 or 24th. That may change but that is the tentative date...
Will have more info for pre-orders, book signing events, tastings soon so you can schedule to be at one.

The potatoez...wit ham and seasoning...dey call dem pot O'brien...but I don't know no O'brien...so.i call dem potatoes wit a Lil ham and seasoning...ok!
Papa Gumbeaux dis is dem 26 breakfast I cooked for 'deez fellas! Dey keep eating it up!
