We can call this one “Summerhead” like this lovely Cocteau Twins song. Curved lines, strong groupings, and a popping triadic color harmony are what makes this one work. I’ve recently written a Principles and Elements training manual for my new HyVee coworkers, so I will talking about the Why of the arrangement more often.

Repurposed Viburnum blooms from the Easter arrangement. They are fairly long lasting (they do shed) if you cut and change the water. The bush at home is all bright white and fluffed out now, dripping with rain. Still needs trimmed…😊

A pair of these for alcoves in a home with high ceilings. A more casual wildflower look than what is currently there.

I’ve seen many designers struggle using Birds of Paradise in arrangements. They become an arrow when they are pointing away from the design, taking your eye with it. Pointing them towards each other keeps the eye in the design. In this simple design they look as if they are having a conversation, while also sheltering the Hellebores. Forsythia in a crescent echos the birds while framing the design, leading you to the focal of orange lilies.
