A really gloomy stormy day. But add some off camera fill flash and jack up the editing colors and it all seems to work out.

Experience matters. No excuses on wedding day. The bride and family won't remember how bad the lighting was but they will always remember how good you made the images shine ! :

Shot a conference at One Ocean this week. The company wanted some backdrop head shots. I did those for at least 50 people. However, I asked the CEO if he wanted to get creative and look for something difference for a few extra shots. I found this piece of wall art and presto, the creative head shot was born.

Once in a while I'll see the lens flare as I'm in the moment capturing memories. Many photographers will simply move to avoid having the sun hit their lens. I welcome the light and how it reacts with the flair, knowing there will be an opportunity to capture something unique.
To some this image won't work but to others it is art in motion.....

The bride and groom loved gemming and gem stones, so it was only natural that they had a geode cake for their wedding. It was rock candy and 100% edible as well. I should know because I'm not only a wedding photographer, I'm also an expert cake tester ! :)
