It’s not always possible for everyone to make it to your wedding, but, if they are able, grandparents are probably the proudest of anyone else there!

If they are up for it, include your grands in your processional or have them escorted down as special guests just before.

Is there a wedding tradition unique to your family or where you’re from?

I married into a big Midwestern family and learned that THE COOKIE TABLE was a thing. Cookies were lovingly made by different family members, so the variety did not disappoint! It was a small but sweet way for loved ones to be involved in the reception.

Not from the Midwest? You should still totally do the cookie table!

Allow myself to introduce…myself!

My name is Mary and I would LOVE to be your wedding coordinator! I’ve been working with couples since 2014 in the Jacksonville (FL) area. Here are a few fun, random facts about me:

👩🏻‍🏫 I was a teacher for 11 years. Loved it SO much, but decided to stay home in 2020 when I had my first baby. I just had my second kiddo this spring, so working from home for my own business has been a dream!

💒 I love weddings. A lot. Think, J Lo in the movie Wedding Planner. And her character’s name is Mary, so, there you go.

💂🏼 If I could live anywhere in the world, it would be London. Mary Poppins had a big impression on me — little me didn’t know it was filmed in CA on a set!

💍 My favorite moment at a wedding is the recessional. The couple is officially married, they walk back up the aisle, and the look of excitement is the priceless! There is also a hint of relief, like “now, on to the party!”

🤪 I live for movie quotes! If you read the very first sentence of this post in an Austin Powers voice, we should be best friends.

Going off site for photos?

1. Be sure the space is open/available before arriving — don’t wing it!

2. Time the walk or drive before your wedding day and communicate it to your photographer and coordinator.

3. Decide who will be joining the quick trip away and let them know ahead of time. You don’t want to arrive and realize you are missing a bridesmaid!

4. Do you need hair or makeup touch-ups? Chat with your stylists and artists, or bring along your Caboodle — yes, I’m a 90s kid — if it’s DIY.

5. Bring a bottle of water! Photo sessions typically last through cocktail hour. You don’t want to go 60 minutes without H2O.
