Ahoy crew! To keep our waters friendly and ensure everyone plays fair, we are introducing a new community justice system: Walk the Plank.

If a member breaks the group rules, their fate will no longer rest solely on the captains. Instead, it goes to a crew vote.

⚓ How It Works:
The Offense: A member breaks a clear group rule.

The Trial: An admin will call for a "Walk the Plank" vote using a poll.

The Verdict: The poll will stay open for 48hrs.
Grant Quarter (Stay): If the majority votes to spare them, they pull themselves back on deck with a warning and another chance.

Feed the Sharks (Ban): If the majority votes to walk the plank, they will be cast overboard (removed from the chat).

Ahoy mates! As our community grows, we want to make sure the ship is full of active, lively crew members. To keep the energy up and the chat moving forward, we’re doing a little bit of routine maintenance.

Starting **June 8th**, we will be initiating a **Dead Weight Sweep**.

# # # ⚓ The Crew Guidelines:

* **The Rule:** If you have **zero in-chat activity** or have been **inactive for a prolonged period**, you will be quietly escorted off the ship (removed from the chat).
* **Why?** We want to keep this space engaging for the folks who actively participate in our meetups, discussions, and events.
* **How to stay on board:** It's simple! Just drop a message, join a conversation, or say hello below to let us know you're still sailing with us.

If you *do* get swept overboard by accident, don't worry—you can always request a new invite when you're ready to jump back into the crew!

🏴‍☠️ The Captain’s Code: Rules of the Crew
Ahoy, mates! Before we drop anchor at the Pool for the ultimate Wing Potluck, every pirate, scallywag, and deckhand must swear their allegiance to the Ship’s Code. We are a relaxed, zero-drama crew of singles and couples looking to make local friends—but a ship only sails smoothly if everyone pulls their weight and respects the deck.

Follow these rules, or prepare to walk the plank! 🌊🍗☀️

📜 Article I: The Age of the Crew
This voyage is strictly for seasoned young adventurers. Only pirates between the ages of 18 and 35 are permitted to board this vessel. Leave the wee pups and the ancient mariners at port!

🍗 Article II: The Bounty (Bring Yer Wings!)
Every deckhand arriving at the pool must bring a shareable batch of chicken wings—whether baked, fried, smoked, or tossed in your secret pirate sauce—to contribute to the feast.

No Wings? Pay the Toll: If you arrive empty-handed without a platter of wings, you must provide a bounty from the approved supply list (sides, dipping sauces, drinks, plates, or pool floats).

The Scurvy Tax: Otherwise, a minimum $5 donation via Chime, Cash App, or cold hard cash must be paid into the crew's chest to keep things fair for everyone. No freebooting off other pirates' grub!

🩳 Article III: Modesty of the Garb
While we are taking over the pool deck, all crew members must maintain proper decorum with their swimwear. Keep your attire respectful and modest. We are here for good vibes and great food, not a wild tavern brawl.

⚓ Article IV: Respect the Personal Space of Lads & Lasses
Every pirate is entitled to their own territory. Respect the personal space of your fellow crewmates. Keep a cool, respectful attitude at all times—unwanted advances or aggressive behavior will result in you being marooned from the group chat and future voyages.

🏖️ Article V: Landlubbers are Welcome
Don't want to get your hair wet? Fret not, matey! You are completely welcome to stay firmly on the pool deck, blast the shanties (music), eat your fill of wings, and chat up the crew.

📢 How to Sign the Ledger:
If you are ready to sail with us on June 14th, send a raven (message) to the Captain! Let me know if you are ready to be added to the official group chat so we can drop the exact coordinates of our pool landing.

🌊 Jax Young Adults Meetup: Swim & Pizza Party! 🍕
​Hey everyone! I’ve seen a lot of posts from young adults in the Jacksonville area who are looking to make friends their age. If that’s you, we’d love for you to join our group!
​We’re a super chill, laid-back crew of singles and couples who met through work, Facebook, or literally just bumping into each other at the grocery store. We usually meet up every two weeks on Thursday afternoons to hang out, catch some sun, and eat good food.
​🏆 The Next Meetup: "Duel of the Pizzas"
​When: Thursday, June 4th (Afternoon) — Date is flexible based on everyone's schedules!
​Where: A local swimming spot (Location TBD)
​The Vibe: A swimming potluck! But for this one, we are doing a Pizza Showdown. Everyone brings a pie from their favorite local spot, and we’re going to judge who officially has the best pizza in Jax.
​🛑 A Few Quick Details:
​Age Limit: Strictly 18–35 only. Because beer is sometimes around, we want to keep things safe and responsible for everyone!
​Can't Swim? No Problem! A few of our regulars don't swim either—they just come for the sun, the laughs, and the great company.
​Work-Schedule Friendly: We do our best to accommodate everyone's jobs. If June 4th doesn't work for the majority, we are totally open to moving the date out so more people can make it.
