The hardest part of wedding planning? Knowing where to begin!

For me, starting with designing the invitation suite was a great place to begin because it set the tone for everything else and gave our wedding a personality 🌴🍊

We worked with the talented @ejddesign to create everything from a custom monogram crest to artwork that would later be used on welcome bags, coozies, flags, matchbooks and anything that would sit still long enough to print!

A little farewell with some of my favorite black & white captured moments. 🖤

I have to brag on Rachel, my photographer, who I feel so lucky to have met. Adair helped me find this gem of a person, and she is so talented, so kind, so perfect at what she does! The first time we actually met was when she drove to Macon to shoot our engagement session. I was a little nervous because I didn’t know if it would be awkward having our photos taken/how they would turn out, etc.
As soon as Rach walked in the door, it was just this bubble of joy! She is SO incredibly sweet and genuine; her personality just glows and makes you happy! She made Robbie and I both feel so comfortable- we just had an instant connection with her. Taking our pictures was such a fun experience, and it flew by! When I got them back, I cried happy tears at how BEAUTIFUL they were! She brought our story and our love to life through these photos… it blows my mind every time I look at them. I can’t help but smile and tear up. Rachel and her team were so awesome on our wedding day too- they didn’t miss a beat, captured every single moment of the day and evening exactly as I wanted it, all with a smile on their faces and having so much fun. It was the absolute best experience!

These black and white photos give me all the feels. Robbie and I did a “last dance” to one of our favorite Frank Sinatra songs, ‘The Way You Look Tonight,’ before doing our sparkler exit (one of Adair’s many brilliant ideas!). They took all the guests downstairs to get ready for our exit, so we had the entire reception to ourselves for the dance. It was such a tender, sweet, romantic moment with my Robbie. You can see it through the photos- the happiness, the love. It’s all perfectly captured! 📸 @rachlovestroy

So on that note, I’ll leave you with these sweet photos. I had so much fun doing this Instagram takeover. I hope you all enjoyed it too! It was really special getting to relive some of our wedding day and telling the story! 🤍 #SomethingBallardSomethingBlue

Party, party, party! 🥂
The reception was a true party- SO much fun! A few of the funny things to note are the amazing balloon animals- we had “Robbie’s Balloon Bar” (remember the fun fact from our cocktail napkins?) in the parlor off the ballroom where there was an incredible balloon artist making hats and wrist balloons on the spot for everyone to wear. 😂 And of course we had to do a late night snack - Macon’s famous @nuway_weiners 🌭👌🏻 FTW! We danced the night away, sang, laughed, smiled for pictures, ate chili dogs, and flaunted our balloon accessories- the whole night was full of joy and fun, and I will never forget a minute of it!

Let’s talk about the FLOWERS! 💐
I’m still pretty speechless, to be honest. The flowers were unlike anything I had ever seen in my life. I’m a huge flower person, so I wanted something really incredible … and man, did Canaan Marshall deliver!

I’ve known Canaan since I was 17 years old, and we have shared many good memories over the years as friends. But getting to work with him and have the honor of his incredible talent at my wedding was something that is truly unforgettable and meant the absolute world to me!! He sketched up this flower “structure” (as he kept calling it) in the beginning stages of wedding planning, and while I said I thought I saw the vision- it was UNREAL when I finally walked into my reception and saw it in real life. My jaw was on the floor; and I think all of Macon is still talking about it!

Every other floral detail was so stunning and so thoughtful to me. Canaan is a true artist, and his glowing personality shines through all of his work. From the bouquets, to the table arrangements, to the ENTRANCE of the reception- oh my gosh. Breathtaking!

Something that really stood out to me was the arrangement on the altar at the church. Robbie and I dedicated the ceremony flowers to three angels: my sweet Daddy, my best friend Eliza (who was one of my bridesmaids I lost to cancer earlier last year), and Robbies uncle Jimmy (who passed in a car accident the year before our wedding). Canaan had these three gorgeous, wispy, white feathers coming out of the flowers - these represented our 3 angels. 😇

It all still takes my breath away every time I look at the photos or think about walking through the floral fairytale during the wedding. It was definitely one for the books! ✨

DRESS APPRECIATION‼️
Swipe to see my favorite shots of this gorgeous masterpiece! 👰🏻‍♀️

Ines Di Santo is the incredible designer of this stunning dress. I wanted something simple, but with a statement. Classic, chic, stunning. These were some of the beauty words I chose- I had the most incredible experience with Kelly Malone (@kellyt_malone) of @whitemagnoliabridal in finding my dream dress. She knew this was my dress before I ever stepped foot in the store to try it on, and once I had it on, I knew it was the one! We decided on the creamier silk fabric, and it turned out simply stunning. Kelly also helped me hand-pick my beautiful veil - it had a horse hair edge, cathedral style; it complimented the sleek dress perfectly. I had a vision of the entire “look” I wanted to achieve on wedding day, from the simplistic, sleeveless dress, to the ponytail and statement drop earrings as my only jewelry (my moms wedding earrings from when she married Frank ☺️). I wore my dream shoes, Manolos, and I wore a different perfume so that every time I smell it, I have the memory of our wedding day.

Miranda Ibrahimovic (@hmubymiranda), of @margaretsniderco, did my hair and makeup. She was an absolute dream to work with, and she made all of my beauty dreams come true! I felt stunning. She was so sweet and calming on my wedding day; it was such a fun, peaceful experience, and when I looked in the mirror, I was so thrilled at how the whole look came together from hair & makeup, to skincare she and the team had recommended, to the entirety of the look. It was just PERFECTION! ✨🤍

Let’s talk DETAILS! ✨
Adair and I both had a vision from the beginning, and she made the vision a complete reality, down to every minor detail. She even surprised me with these embroidered linen tea towels that all the servers had in the first photo with the pop of blue, which was a theme throughout our reception (#SomethingBallardSomethingBlue). This hashtag was deemed by my angel bridesmaid, and best friend, Eliza. ☺️ @elizapharrison @sanparis

A few notes:
Our signature drinks were named after our dogs (Robbie’s black lab, Kai, and my little shih-tzu, Lucy). We had embroidered/branded cups, koozies, napkins, drink stirrers, etc. Some of the cocktail napkins had fun facts about us (the balloon animal is foreshadowing later in the reception, which I will share later 😉). Our cipher was on the dance floor outside on the balcony, on the bar, on the acrylic trays with drinks for arriving guests during cocktail hour, and more! Our guest sign-in was a watercolor of downtown Macon with a white border for writing. All of this beautiful branding/paper products for the party were created by the talented @heatherobriendesign . We incorporated the beautiful watercolor of the church on our ceremony programs, and the watercolor of Idle Hour Country Club was a nice touch on the reception cards with our beautiful invitation suite by @blythehollidaydesigns .

Adair simply nailed it. We connected instantly when we started working together; did I mention we are birthday twins? Both of our bdays are April 3rd - soul sisters! No wonder we were on the same wavelength from start to finish - we could literally finish each others sentences when brainstorming the event. Her entire vision came to life from the blush tones in the outside scene, to the rich blues and textures inside the ballroom, to the beautiful furniture and seating for guests… textures, colors, layout & design. The whole place was a complete fairytale. She planned every minute to a T so Robbie and I didn’t miss a beat on our special day. Nothing would have been possible without her! My Queen! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

My groom… my sweet Robbie. ❤️ To know him is to love him. He is simply the kindest, most genuine, uplifting, supportive, loving husband. He is strong, he is a leader, he is inspiring, his positivity is contagious, along with his smile. I can’t get enough of him!

I tried to tell him all of these things in my letter on our wedding day. Robbie and I decided not to do a first look. We are both very traditional, and we wanted that special moment when the doors opened and we hadn’t seen eachother all day. ☺️
My wedding gift to robbie was one of my dad’s watches - it was originally passed down to him from my great grandfather, who is one of the family members I am named after - the name “Tindal”. His name is engraved on the back, and I had Robbie’s initials with our wedding date engraved under his. There is still room for another generation! It was a super special gift, and it made my heart so happy to pass it on to him. Look at that smile at the end. 😉

Our Love Story… 🤍 (swipe to see where it all began!)

Robbie and I actually went on our “first date” when we were about 13 years old: he took me to his 9th grade Christmas dance. We both grew up in Macon, GA, went to the 2 rival high schools, and had our own circles of life, so we went our separate ways after the dance. Flash forward 15 years, where our lives had led us both back to Macon. We were both single, just shy of 30, and we had given up on trying to find “the one” because, Lord knows, we didn’t think that would happen in our little town of Macon at this point!

My mom had remarried and my stepsis (who I grew up with and is now my bff) mentioned someone she thought I should go on a date with. I was hesitant but started to ask some questions, and come to find out, every answer was checking all the boxes in my book! I asked who this dream guy was, and as soon as she replied, “Robbie Ballard,” I started laughing! I was in shock…the guy who took me to a Christmas dance when I was 13? No way.😅But they asked me to give it a chance. A few weeks later, Robbie Ballard gave me a call. He was such a gentleman! He asked me out for dinner that weekend. From the moment Robbie picked me up, it was like a breath of fresh air; it felt like I had known him my whole life, but we hardly knew eachother! Everything was so natural- not a quiet moment. We laughed and had the best conversations. He even kissed me goodbye when he dropped me off that night, and that’s really not in his character so soon. He felt the same thing I felt- we both admitted it later.

Our relationship took off and never slowed down. Robbie told me he loved me (by chance) on my parents wedding anniversary that August. He reminds me so much of my dad who passed when I was 11; things I loved about him and things I enjoyed doing with him- funny coincidences & sharing these special things with Robbie made me fall even more in love. He proposed 6 months later, and it was a total dream come true with both of our families present. He still gives me butterflies every day, and I’m so thankful that God scripted our story so beautifully, leading us back together when it was time for us to fall in love. 🤍

Their next album cover. Title: A love to wait a lifetime for. I’m still so emotional about it and start to cry every time I think back on their journey. It’s a pretty amazing thing to know two people as individuals and then know them as a superior couple who strive to always put the other first and help the other chase (and land) their dreams. See! Crying 😭… but wait.. then I remember the smell of bourbon street and I’m brought right back to reality. Worth it. 📷 @ktfigphoto

An amazing reminder from Dairing Events- you don’t always need the exact visuals when it comes to creating your wedding... especially when working with wedding professionals you trust!!
Morgan and Cameron's wedding was supposed to be at Chandler Oaks Barn. When COVID hit in 2020, they decided to change up their venue and totally rethink their wedding with their planner. So Mo and Cam decided that instead of spending the money on a wedding venue, they would go buy a boat. Laura and I are big boaters. Mo's mom had done all the booking and planning and we hadn't met the bride and groom yet. One day we were down at our Marina cleaning up our boat when on the lift comes this beautiful new Regal Boat. (We have a Regal as well) I'll admit I was a little envious of this boat. Well the couple where having a discussion on what side to put the registration letters on. Being the helpful boaters we are, I jumped in and told them where they should go. Fast forward 2 weeks later and we are scheduled to meet the bride and groom at the marina for a float through of their new wedding plans....yes it was going to be on boats...and yes it is the same couple we helped earlier! Jacksonville is the smallest big town you will ever live in!! Needless to say we hit it off right away. Come Wedding day, the weather didn't exactly cooperate. It was cold, windy and not ideal conditions for boat wedding. But all the awesome vendors made it happen. From decorating a boat and dock, to having guests on boats watching the ceremony, the reception out on the sandbar "pineapple point" it was one of the most unique and different weddings we have ever filmed. We were so happy to celebrate with Mo and Cam and I'm still a little jealous of their nice Regal boat! #covidbride #boatwedding #jacksonvillebride #floridabride #regalboats #uniqueweddings #weddingvideography #jacksonvilleweddingvideographer #destinationwedding #staugustineweddingvideo Planning: Dairing Events Photo: Jenn Hopkins Photography Food: Mai Oui Gourmet
