We want to say big Thank You to Cherokee Ranch for allowing us to cater the Luau Golf Tournament again this year. Great turn out. We prepared fish of Friday night and rib-eyes and chicken Saturday night for 350 people.

Yesterday, the Jacksonville Police Department recognized the retirement of Sergeant McCullough following 34 years of dedicated service to our department and community.
Throughout his career, Sergeant McCullough served in several critical roles. Sergeant McCullough maintained a strong work ethic and commitment to doing things the right way, which helped keep the department running day in and day out.
More importantly, he built lasting relationships across our community, reflecting the respect he earned over decades of service.
Sergeant McCullough set the standard for how this job should be done. His work ethic, leadership, and commitment to doing things the right way have had a lasting impact on this department and community.
We thank him for his service and wish him the very best in this next chapter.

The Jacksonville Firefighters Association Fishing Tournament is just one week from today, and we’re getting excited to see everyone out on the water!

All special needs students from Cherokee County and surrounding
counties are invited to attend and participate in the 2026 Junior Rodeo for Exceptional Kids. Each participant will have their own Rodeo Buddy assigned to them to assist them during the rodeo; however, each participant must also be accompanied by their parent or guardian.
All participants will have the opportunity to experience a series of modified rodeo events such as:
 Roping a steer head
 Stick horse racing
 Barrel racing
 Time to visit with a rodeo clown
 Riding a horse
