Amidst the rain, heat and extreme humidity, you could still feel the sweetest presence of love throughout the Strickland’s wedding and reception. The battle of buttercream and the Alabama heat/ humidity faced off but ultimately we pulled out a win! 🤪
Thankfully the bride wasn’t set on any particular cake as she was my FIRST client EVER to say “Surprise me!” 😳 At the end of the day, she had a beautiful wedding cake. The top tier was lemon cake filled with a berry compote. The bottom was classic wedding cake filled with strawberries.😋
As always, we’re greatful for every opportunity to share in these precious moments of life.

“The Lemon Party” Part 4:

The historic home, “The Gathering Place” easily lended itself to the most Southern and simplistic floral arrangements.

This is a new addition to Southern Oaks we now offer as an option packaged with catering.
It was SO exciting to launch this new venture by designing Shower florals for Kaedon and Vanessa.

My sweet niece, Alley Smith, is responsible for the most adorable “Main Squeeze” sign. 🍋

“The Lemon Party” Part 3:

In keeping with the Lemon Theme, I thought an “elevated picnic menu” sounded just right.
Keeping it simple, we served assorted sandwiches and salads with a beautiful charcuterie board. My mother’s (Brenda W. Smith) fresh squeezed lemonade and strawberry lemonade added the perfect squeeze to our lemon party.🍋🍋

“The Lemon Party” part 1:

Many hands helped prepare the wedding shower for our oldest son and his beautiful bride to be. It was a glorious “Main Sqeeze” affair. Without these beautiful hands offering their labor of love, this simply would not have been what it was. I am forever grateful for the amazing women God has placed in my life and for their never ending willingness to serve.
