7 years of blood, sweat, & tears & building a business & a legacy that we dreamed would last forever (& in many ways it will). We started with an old boarding barn & meticulously dismantled it and built it back into something amazing. Board by board from the guts to the milled pine finish , we poured our hearts into every fiber of its being.
Being a business owner isn't for the faint of heart. It's a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week thing. It's an identity that you assume & everything you do is a reflection of your business. It's late nights, early mornings, missing out on family functions and holidays. Being a venue owner requires you to work when the rest of your friends and family are off playing & making memories. It's going straight from your day job to the venue every evening to work. Its pouring every penny you made back in, to make each experience a better one. It's keeping your notifications on & responding no matter when & where because people are heavy on instant gratification and if you dont, someone else will!
We helped create a lot of memories for a lot folks in and around this town & for that we are forever grateful! We were blessed to be a part of your highest of highs & your lowest of lows. We provided our community with fun, family things to do. Hundreds of strangers passed through our doors & left as friends. You were our greatest hype! You promoted us, shared our posts, insisted your friends try us out. For your friendship, we are incredibly blessed. We will continue to cheer for you & celebrate your milestones!
We built a solid vendor team. A team that I could roll up & say hey -- we are donating this for such & such cause - are you in? I was never met with the slightest of hesitation. We built a team that had each other's backs. It was not an "every man for his own brand" it was many independent brands, functioning as one, well oiled machine, Bar J Ranch.

We made so many venue friends! We will always believe that community is greater than competition & will continue to refer clients & folks we see in search on Facebook to each of you! Each of us had something different to offer & boosting each other up costs nothing. We set the bar high for inclusive wedding packages & leave behind some big shoes to fill. So high in fact that we were routinely sent Facebook posts of another newer local venue mimicking our every move. Imitation will forever be the best form of flattery & we didnt mind being a leader.
It's been a long 7 years. Saturday was a bittersweet final event -but we are happy to return to our families & resume making memories & being a full time part of their weekends.
Our life's motto will forever be "Come as Strangers, Leave as Friends." I carry this with me in our family tree business as well. They pick on me all of the time because I cant go anywhere without making a friend. If you need any wedding or event tips or advice, we are always a phone call or a message away.
Thanks for the ride - ♡
