Walking in the garden is always a good idea!

As many of us in Florida keep an eye on the storm, be safe and take breaks from the news. A walk in the garden can clear your mind.

There are sooo many good reasons for growing more of your own food, including these:
- Fresh food is better for your health.
- Growing food is an educational family project.
- Cooking to your harvests can save you money and change your overall diet.
- Every pound of food you grow (or buy locally) offsets up to two pounds of greenhouse gas emissions.

And in Florida, now is a good time to build some soil for your raised beds so they'll be ready for your fall crops. (Fall through winter is the best season for edibles in Florida.)

There are links to free articles with reliable, first-hand information on soil and composting to growing individual crops and more on the Green Resources Page of the Green Gardening Matters blog: https://greengardeningmatters.blogspot.com/p/green-resources.html
